What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Paul was inspired by god so he does not contradict God. The ten commandments were for Israel in the OT. But as he said in Galatians 3 under the inspiration of God: 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then...

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Now if you finished the qoute from Scripture: Matthew 5:17-19 King James Version 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass...

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Now look at what Paul gave as a command to the church! 2 Corinthians 3:7-9 King James Version 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which...

The deadly consequences of denying limited atonement !

Well do not throw the baby out with the bath water. What are called teh five points of Calvinism are extremely biblical! Just because some people may have a personality that is not very social, does not make a belief wrong! Teh bible decides what is right ands wrong for us.

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Correct! as it is written in Hebrews we have ceased from our works and entered into permanent Sabbath rest! That does not mean we do not labor, but it does mean we do not labor to attain being righteous, but labor because we are righteous because of Jesus!

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Why do you make void Gods Word by altering it to make a legalistic command that the bible does not give? Are you Jewish? Show where the Gentiles in the church have to keep Sabbath.

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

God blessed it, but it did not become a command (andf for Israel alone as Ex. 31 shows) until the giving of the law which was several thousand years after creation! Of the ten commands, none are specifically carried over to the new. Paul also called the commands in stone (the 10) a...

    KJV goof ups

I desire any believer to find and study any of the many English translations. We must remember that an English bible is a translation , and in the case of it coming from the Septuagint and Latin it is a translation of a translation. when one goes from one language to another, impact may be...

What exactly is ''resting'' on the Sabbath as to keeping it 'Holy'?

Sorry but that is not New Testament teaching. The Sabbath was a sign for Israel alone! Exodus 31:16-17 King James Version 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and...

BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF CHRIST

Sorry but one is saved before one receives water baptism. One is baptized in teh Spirit at the moment they trust in the death and resurrection for the full payment of their sins.

The deadly consequences of denying limited atonement !

Jesus death made all men savable, but only the elect receive the atonement. Today too many people confuse propitiation with atonement. Propitiation means the acceptable sacrifice, which Jesus is for all of mankind. but NT atonement means an erasing of sin and that is reserved only for the elect.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Unfortunately the gospel of the kingdom Jesus spoke o fhas big differences. It is not preached to offer salvation. It is preached during the 70th week of daniel. Jesus spoke that it is to be a witness to the nations. this is the same type of preaching John the Baptist did. He announced the...

Is the Message From God, or Is It Just Man Making Noise?

Excellent post. All of us are guilty of speaking fro ourselves. We love the Lord and wish to glorify him, but sometimes we get in the way.

BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF CHRIST

Here you are finally correct! John preached baptism for the kingdom being announced. Once that kingdom was withdrawn from that generation, Jesus spent His time preparing the Apostles for the building of the church.

But we do have to do somethings to advance our knowledge Paul said it in Timothy and all his epistles. It is our responsibility to study to be approved. God approves as we study. Salvation for us is free for Jesus paid the price, but growth in the Christian life comes from obedinece

    Is Marriage Worth It?

Many say marriage is a fifty/fifty covenant. It is not! It is a 100/100 covenant. A husband can truly be free to love his wife as christ loves the church when he knows she is busy respecting him and loving him in return. It does not excuse us from our obligation in marriage if our partner...
