    An idea for your consideration.

If the scientists are right, there won't be an economy left to destroy. Best wishes, 2RM.

    An idea for your consideration.

Are you enslaved? And why do you think scientists, whose reputations ride on the accuracy of their predictions, would utter 'false cries'?

    An idea for your consideration.

Hi Pearl, The difference between what happened before and what is happening now, is that the scientists tell us this bout of climate change is that the wealthy has caused/is causing it. It is very much our fault, which is what makes it a moral issue. Best wishes, 2RM.

    An idea for your consideration.

So, we face climate change. Doubtless the wealthy west will survive. But the poor in Africa, Latin America, and southern Asia face some tough times ahead. Given this situation what is the appropriately ethical response? I have some ideas, but before I launch into them, I want to open up the...

    homosexuality and ethics

OK. After all that by way of digression, it is probably now time to revert to the thread theme, which is homosexuality and ethics. So far as Anglicans go, my basic problem with the (largely) African view that homosexuality is sinful is that I simply do not see why that should be so. To say it is...

    homosexuality and ethics

Hmmm. If I were trying to start a religion, I might say something similar. But I do not accuse Jesus of being so disingenuous. Rather, I think He sets the example. It is the extent to which we follow that example that determines whether we are on His way, access His truth, and share in His life...

All learning leads towards God. He, after all, created it all, that we might follow Him on our various journeys through our lives. Best wishes, 2RM.

Indeed not. But as we have already discovered, that means more to you than it does to me. Meanwhile, I can take advantage of the philosophical progress humanity has made since the Bible was compiled. Best wishes, 2RM.

    homosexuality and ethics

You probably won't be surprised to learn I have a theory on this, as well. Firstly, salvation cannot be by works, or the richest philanthropists would fill heaven. You could buy your way in, and this offends our sense of natural justice. Nor, I think, is salvation a matter of belief. There are...

    homosexuality and ethics

That may be so. However, I think we compensate for each other's weaknesses, and together we can build God's Kingdom on Earth. Best wishes, 2RM.

    homosexuality and ethics

Of course I care. But for me, it's an integrity thing. We all have a vocation in this life; a mission, if you like. Some reason why God made us the way we are. And I intend to fulfil mine to the best of my ability. As you have probably gathered by now, I am not your average common or garden...

I assume you meant to write 'want to share?'. The answer to that question is: Not particularly. Best wishes, 2RM.

Some Lines with Attitude. Spare me, please, your moral rant Your thou shalt not! Your pious cant, And let me live as I am made Wild and free and unafraid Dreading naught of Judgement Day Pilgrim on another way. If I'm wrong I'll rot in hell But rotting there remember well The span I spent as...

    homosexuality and ethics

I honestly don't worry about it. Whatever happens to me will be my just deserts. One thing is for sure, though: I don't, in this life, let anyone bribe me with hopes of heaven, or bully me with threats of hell. Best wishes, 2RM.

    homosexuality and ethics

Hmmm. I think most, if not all, Christians have a story to tell about God's interventions in their lives via the Holy Spirit. The thing is, they are all different, and lead us to different conclusions. You, for example, don't seem to like the world very much, or it's human inhabitants. I, on the...

    homosexuality and ethics

How could you possibly know this? What is your evidence, and what is your reasoning? And are we simply to jettison the last 1600 years of Christian development? Best wishes, 2RM.

    homosexuality and ethics

On the contrary, there are few books that are completely useless. Even novels generally have some wisdom to impart. And it is often those we disagree with most vehemently who have the most important things to say to us. As for my authority being me, well, there is some truth to that. But you...

And just who else should decide that for me? And who decides for you? By the way, if you are going to dismiss my posts as nonsense and rubbish, it might help if you gave your reasons for thinking that. Otherwise I will take them to be gratuitous insults and ignore them accordingly. And so far...
