    Cults And Their Faults

Actual "Mormon" here: Jesus Christ the divine Son of God. Deity. Straight up. He is my Lord, Savior, and King. He words never cease and the heavens are still open. I also do not deny that many other folks (Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, etc) are also Christian and have great...

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

It’s a foundationally different view point than JW: seeing the bueaty in others even as you disagree. If you ever want to listen, I’m game. But I’m not interested in war. Have a great day, ever growing closer to Christ.

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

I'm going to be very direct here: I find the WatchTower organization to be an abusive toxic cult pantomiming as disciple of Christ. It is the singularly most disgusting organization I have ever seen, having studied dozens and dozens of faiths, both Christian and non. However, I still...

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

Agreed. A holiday is what you make it. Celebrate Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection. Celebrate your loved ones on anniversaries and birthdays. Especially as life gets so busy and we need that reminder to celebrate and recharge.

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

Jane, I’m not remotely threatened by you and totally acknowledge your right to believe whatever you do, even if I find it toxic and anti-Bible. I am not here to war. May you feel His peace.

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

Acting like a martyr doesn't save anyone and it's extremely poor tack. My greatest disagreement with JW is not theology-- that's super important, but gets trumped. Rather it was the prideful & war-like state I found of their hearts. This non ending "us-versus-them" and "show me wrong"...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

100% agree that salvation is a free gift from God. We love Him, and strive to follow Him because of that love. I don't know you or your beliefs. I've just met a lot of people whom judge heavily on denomination going "you're an unsaved cultist!" based on nothing more than a label.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

No, I’m the only “Mormon” on this site.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I post here with much less frequency than I used to :) I also simply skip majority of the scrabbles so common- they have no interest to me.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

A challenge for you here is you're interested: judge not a person by the label on the pew, especially labels put there by other people. Instead, look at each person individually and listen to their love of Christ. Jesus Christ is my Savior, my King, the center of my world. I love Him with...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Hi I'm an actual member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here, nicknamed "Mormon". Warren Jeffs is NOT a member of my church. He's a satanic monster. The end. Christ's church does not permit abuse or so many of the horrendous crimes Jeffs goes with. It's not an...

What are the main doctrinal differences between Jehovah's Witnesses and mainstream Christianity?

Similar here. I love studying my different faiths and have attended dozens of them throughput the years, just to better understand and love my neighbor. Of these dozens of faiths, Christian and non, JW were the only ones that it was a downright negative experience all around. And i tried...

Have I said anything about planets? Nope. My focus and everything I have said has been focused on becoming perfected like God is - white is white. A joint heir with Christ, one with Him and the Father.

The Spiritual Function of the Prophets have ceased !

And what about Matthias whom was selected after Jesus & Judas both left? And how about Paul?

The Spiritual Function of the Prophets have ceased !

I understand things differently: yes Christ’s church is built upon Prophets and Apsotles. But that doesn’t stop- it keeps building on that same foundation. Unchanging. Not stopping. There’s no verse where it says “and from now on there shall never be anyone more prophets and Apostles”.

Adding some more quotes to this: Genesis 1:26–27: 26 ¶ And God said, Let us makeman in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon...

On this I greatly disagree: what God makes perfect is perfect. No more blemishes. John 17. But if you want to deny my relationship with Christ and call me "non-Christian" for that, whatever. I've been called much worse by men (& women).

I'll address this super short style, let me know if you want me to go more in-depth on any point: LDS Christians like myself look at a disciple's walk with Christ holistically, not dividing it into salvation / sanctification pieces. The first step in a disciple's walk is 100% faith in Christ...

Actual official doctrine & beliefs (keeping this super short): There's one God-- one way, one truth, one glory, etc. Different divine persons: Father, Son, Spirit. In Heaven, God shares all that He has with His fully sanctified: white is white, perfected is perfected. They will be joint...
