1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

When was the HS given to men? Was he there in the first 1600 years of existence? If so, what did he do because that whole world was destroyed. Was he given to the nation of Israel? I would say yes. But how was he given? Through the prophets, from Moses onward. The HS did not work on every...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

First of all. Dealing with Eph 5:18? Have you considered the parallel passage in Colossians? Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

You can’t take things out of context and build a doctrine. The promise spoken of in acts 2:39 is not the same as acts 1:4. New tongue? That’s made up. I can guarantee any gibber jabber you expel is definitely a “new tongue”. 1 Cor 2 is soooo abused. I don’t find it very funny because I...

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Go ahead and watch, but be a berean and search the scriptures to see if it is so. I watch him all the time just like I watch and listen to many other people as well. I want to know what everybody is teaching and how they come to their conclusions. I have to say 90% of what I listen too is...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Are you talking about this promise? Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. Well, they waited in Jerusalem as instructed and the HS fell on them...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Yes, when he said “on us” he was speaking to and referring to the HS falling on the apostles in acts 2:1-4. He was not referring to the 3000 who were baptized. There are only two instances of HS baptism in all the New Testament. Apostles and Cornelius. You have to admit the HS NEVER fell on you...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

The Bible tells me that it is not the HS living in me that gives me comfort, teaching, and correction. The HS actually said this... 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

All of Paul’s writings were to Christians. What isn’t so simple and needs explanation is HOW is the HS in you? You, like the majority of these people on here want to say that the HS personally lives in us which would be a miraculous event. I never said the HS no longer works through...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

    Nice. I would agree.

    Amillenialism and Acts 1:11

Literal? Yes I would since the book itself claims that it is a figurative book in verse 1.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

These scriptures by themselves with no application mean nothing. Anybody can just post passage here and there as if they agree with their doctrine. Once again I’m pathetic and a devil. Haven’t heard that one before.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

An overview is...he was tying it in to his revelation study that Christ is coming back to establish his kingdom, tribulation, and all of these signs are what we should be looking for today. All false. The first 36 or so verses of Mt 24 is about the destruction of Jerusalem. His disciples asked...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

the HS has never worked on me directly, but I think I can show a reasonable amount of biblical understanding. Jn 14 was not spoken directly to you. You do not have miraculous remembrance and you know it. Again, writing to brethren in 1st century that had the miraculous gifts of the HS. That...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

All of that to get to this. I’ve been right all along. You state above that (let me use your words as you say) “God himself gives (this would be direct operation apart from the word since you already said reading scripture won’t do it) certain (Calvinist?) men his understanding of his own...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Those in Corinth received those gifts through the laying on of an apostles hands. They did not get them directly as the apostles did on Pentecost. And since there are no more living apostles we don’t receive any of them.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

There is no way you can come to that conclusion by just reading those 2 verses. It’s not in there. I’ll prove it. In acts 8 we see the Samaritans believed and were baptized just like those in acts 2 but they did not receive the Spirit...8:16 Either Peter was lying or it means something else.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

I’m not quite sure what this all means. We all know God is love. But the Bible also says that God is a consuming fire. Do we not want to consider that side of God as well? Or is it just always love.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Peter said....and ye shall receive THE GIFT OF the HS. He did not say that they would receive the HS. The gift of the HS could be a number of things.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

I appreciate our discussion. I think you would agree that God, in the Old Testament worked through the nation of Israel and not the gentile nations. This doesn’t mean he didn’t care about them it was just a part of the plan to bring Christ into the world. So, how did Nineveh repent? Jesus, in...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

This is funny. I’ve said two or three different things and everyone of them you say...”that’s not e..didn’t say that”. Then why don’t you spell it out so someone as slow as me can know. Does the Spirit work directly through you or in some other Way?
