    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Ok. Just stop watching Les Feldick. He doesn’t teach the truth. Example of his misleading way of teaching. He started a study on Mt 24 and he started by saying....ok let’s drop in at verse 4. He then proceeded to destroy the meaning and teaching of Mt 24. You CANNOT understand Mt 24 without...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

I never told anybody I could “feel the HS in their post”. You might want to look at that one again. The rest of this is you creating a narrative that makes you happy. Whatever. The truth of the word can’t change people dug in that deep. In 1 Cor 4 Paul was writing to a church that literally...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Where does the power come from? You seem to be saying that the HS gives you the power directly apart from the word. I’m saying the HS gives us the power through his word. When we read, study and search the scriptures the HS will give us all we need. Thats what Paul said. When you read you can...

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Yes but Doug responded to one of your post and said rom 6 was about Spirit baptism when it is not. You put at the bottom that you liked it. The baptism under consideration is a burial and resurrection which is exactly what happens in water baptism. That is why I said don’t lose your common...

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Yes. The key point is that Paul said WE are buried with him by baptism. He included himself because he to was baptized in water. Romans 6 is talking about water baptism.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

yes but that is totally separate to the conversion of the 3000 that were baptized. The apostles were baptized in the HG to impress the audience and to guide the message. Then those in the audience were baptized in water.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Pentecost was a jewish feast and this particular Pentecost was when the gospel was first preached. It started with the Jews, went to the Samaritans, and then to everyone. Why did it happen that way? Because that is what Jesus commanded. Acts 1

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

There was a baptism in the Holy Ghost. On the apostles in acts 2 and on Cornelius and his family in acts 10. And both times included the miraculous. You have not had the miraculous work on you today. I’ve been around MANY “Christians” just like you and not a one can validate any kind of...

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

How did a church start in Rome? Individuals from Pentecost in the dispersion who went back home. Those in Rome would have been converted in the first part of acts and that was baptism in water.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

But the Romans were baptized in water. And in Rom 6:3,4 Paul uses “us” and “we” because just like the Romans he too was baptized in water. And how in the wild world of sports does Spirit baptism look like a burial and resurrection. Nancy, don’t lose your common sense when you study the Bible.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Where do you get that “Israel” is the only one that has to call on the name of the lord? Acts 2:17 says that in the last days the Spirit would be poured out on ALL flesh. That is both Jew and gentile. John 20 says the same thing as John 3:16. Are now saying John 3:16 is only for the Jews?

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Paul said that when you read what I wrote you can understand. And you say no, that is not right, the HS has to work first, I can’t just read and understand. So, I am just wondering when will the HS open your understanding?

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PETER AND PAUL

Romans 10:8-13 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; Paul just said he is talking about the word of faith, not a word. It is also the one WE preach (Paul and other apostles) he then goes on to explain the word...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

If I’m a child of God and I’m thrown in a prison I would think my relationship to God would get even stronger. I would have nothing to do but pray 24/7. The cares and distractions of everyday life are completely gone. But if I’m not a child of a God and I’m thrown in a prison with no access...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

What are you trying to say. The HS has never fallen on you like this. So what is your point?

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

how do we further the kingdom? Through preaching the gospel. The HS isn’t going to do it for us. He’s already done his part. Paul said.. 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to...

Thank you for this refreshing post. It’s good to see there are voices of reason.

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

Your posting passages dealing with apostles. Of course they had the direct operation of the Spirit. We don’t. We don’t need to be given the ability to understand. We already posses it. Paul said... Ephesians 3:3-4 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in...

1 Corinthians 2 is so abused

I believe this is parallel with Mk 16:17-20 The Spirit literally did flow out of believers in the early church through the laying on of hands of an apostle. How could they worship, evangelize and go about their business without it? They didn’t have the written word as we do.
