    Oddly OSAS

Yes, this addresses those who are sons of God--as stated, those from whom faith is removed are accounted as having never had faith. In other words, there is no change to your certainty you have when you read the passage.

    Oddly OSAS

There are two sides to it--on one hand, we are warned against falling away, and, yet, if faith is removed from someone, they are treated no differently from an unbeliever, because, as unbelievers, they will have to pay for their sins. Their name is not in the Book of Life, it is blotted out...

    Oddly OSAS

If your understanding were valid, then Paul was wrong to write 1 Co 9:27-10:11. It's as simple as that.
  4. GracePeace

    Oddly OSAS

You deny that they appear, but you can do nothing to defend or substantiate your denial. I stand by my view of Mt 18 ,etc.

No, the Bible doesn't tell us that. I showed that it tells us otherwise. Your only recourse is essentially to argue that God changes--"That was yesterday, today God is different." Yeah, I believe that. Yeah, those whose citizenship is in heaven now should await that transformation--that says...

    Oddly OSAS

God doesn't change. You denied His children could unbecome His children, I debunked that denial, now your only recourse is essentially to complain "that was yesterday God is different today". Paul says it was written for me not just them.

    Oddly OSAS

You didn't want context, you wanted only a "Do you agree, verbatim? I don't want to hear any context. Just tell me VERBATIM."
  8. GracePeace

    Oddly OSAS

I just accept what I read--you're the only one who can tell me about yourself, and I believe you.
  9. GracePeace

    Oddly OSAS

Including that "pesky" word "context", yes.

    Oddly OSAS

You said God's children can't unbecome His children, I disproved that. God doesn't change. The same God Who did it then still does it now, but by your reasoning, again, you'd have to toss a lot of the NT out, bc Paul gets all his doctrine from the OT, as Jesus says "a scribe or a lawyer who...

    Justified by Works

Which part of the verse did you disagree with? "The one who doubts is condemned if he eats" It's not up for debate. It's as clear as clear could be. To reject it is unbelief.

@marks I strive to honor the text. God knows. I don't see another way to honor the text. I see your way as dismissing the text.

    Oddly OSAS

Paul says those things were written for us (1 Co 9, 10). Yep! Thanks!

I just believe the verse--the one who does what he doubts sins and is condemned. Forgive me. Lol
  15. GracePeace

    Justified by Works

Condemned means "not in right standing", whereas justified means "in right standing". The verse teaches that when someone is in sin, they are not in right standing. Do you disagree?

I never said the person who sins one time is going to hell, I was simply outlining the parameters.

    Oddly OSAS

    1. Deuteronomy 32:5 "They are no longer His children because of their defect" 2. Deuteronomy 14:1 "You are children of the LORD your God.", John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil." 3. Hos 1 "Not My People"... "It will be said 'children of the living God'" : while they are not His people...

    Oddly OSAS

    1. The person was pardoned all their sins. 2. The person pardoned all their sins should forgive. 3. If the pardoned does not forgive, the pardon is rescinded. 4. Jesus says this applies to His disciples--they must forgive their brothers (fellow believers), or the forgiveness extended to them...

    Oddly OSAS

The dynamic is that God forgets righteousness just like He forgets sin--and God is the same yesterday today and forever, so, just as He still forgets sin today, He still forgets righteousness today. Today, however, "faith is counted as righteousness", thus the righteousness that is forgotten is...

If what I'm saying is not true, what do you do with... 1 John 2 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. ...since you believe people can fall away?
