Sorry. Please quote me ever having said that.

You tried this with Heb 3 before--you said "'we have become partakers of Christ IF we endure to the end' means true believers remain, and if you fall away you were never a partaker of Christ"... but the entire passage is all about starting well but ending badly... again, the partaking of Christ...

You are kinda funny. What you do is you take things in tiny, tiny contexts--ie, take them out of context--and then project that onto the whole of Scripture. I'm not saying you're unsaved--obviously--but if I took your view I would be without answers to so many verses.

Why is it "either God has Alzheimer's or He has a good memory"? Doesn't God say He will "remember" our sins no more (Jer 31:31-34)? That doesn't mean God has a bad memory does it? If He says He forgets sins, and He forgets righteousness, I believe it.

    Oddly OSAS

Yes, those who go out were never of us because their righteousness of faith is forgotten.

    Oddly OSAS

Even if I grant your premise, when you say they fall away from grace, if they fall away irretrievably, their righteousness of faith is forgotten, and they were never saved.
  8. GracePeace

    Oddly OSAS

Yeah, I agree--because if someone falls away none of these things was ever said of them.

    Oddly OSAS

The person becomes in a category of having never been saved--those who have faith continue in it.

    Oddly OSAS

Ezekiel 18:24 presents a dynamic which is at play today--but, today, "faith is counted as righteousness", so when He forgets righteousness today He forgets the person ever had faith at all, so they were never saved, whereas the saved never lose salvation.

    Oddly OSAS

Not sure how this is relevant--what I meant was if God forgot righteousness then, He still forgets it today. Do you believe God forgets righteousness?

    Justified by Works

LOL Ro 14:23 says if you do something you doubt is correct you are CONDEMNED. Why do you deny that? There are SOOOO many points to address, but I fear it will be a fruitless endeavor--and I don't think you need to know this. Some things are better left unsaid and unknown. Like they say...

    Oddly OSAS

How? LOL There's no other way to make sense of the data. There are verses that speak of falling away, and there are verses that speak of never falling away. The only way to affirm both is to affirm God forgets righteousness--and, in the meantime, we trust God's attitude and Promises for the...

    Justified by Works

Remember Paul says "I was abundant in labors above them all yet not I but the grace with me". It doesn't mean we don't have labors because it is grace/God's righteousness; the REASON I have gone about to make the distinction is to defend against the accusation that telling Christians they will...

    Oddly OSAS

In Ezekiel 18:24 it says God forgets righteousness just like He forgets sin. In the New Covenant, faith is counted as righteousness. If God forgets you ever had faith, then you never had faith--just as the sins are removed as far away as the East is from the West, so, also, the memory of the...

    Justified by Works

My point was telling someone they'll be condemned, not justified, if they walk in doubt, contrary to their convictions (Ro 1:17, 14:5, 23) doesn't appear to contradict "grace not works", bc "works" is what emanates from flesh (Ro 8:3), but "grace" and "faith" emanate from God. Two completely...

    Oddly OSAS

Yes, those who fall away have the grace of faith removed. It is God's kindness that we are even GRANTED to believe. It is not common material that just anyone can have. It is God. There are degrees of falling away, but if someone falls away irretrievably, their faith counted as righteousness is...

Filthy Rags versus Fine Linen Bright and Clean

When Joshua the priest was in filthy garments, and Satan stood there to accuse him, and the clothes were taken away and replaced, did that signify God took his body away? The two garments are two different consciences, it seems.

    Oddly OSAS

Since those who fall away from the faith are counted as having never been saved (their faith counted as righteousness is forgotten (Ez 18:24), their names blotted out of the Book of Life), in a way, those who have the faith never fall away, but continue on with the believers (1 Jn 2:19), which...
