The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

    I understand what your saying.

    Post the prophecy

Amos 8 is part of the story, the part that deals with the "enemies of the gospel", the flesh descendants of Israel. Amos 9 and Jeremiah and Ezekiel deal with the Israel of God, the elect. Amos 8 is a prophecy of God taking the kingdom from the wicked Jews and giving it to the righteous Jews.

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

I think we agree accept for what "until the fullness of the Gentiles come in" means. My belief is that the fullness of the Gentiles was the point God was finished using the Gentiles to destroy the nation of Israel.

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

My bad, I apologize for the confusion.

I see nothing in Romans that contradicts "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved". Can you elaborate on your position? I'm guessing its the "all Israel shall be saved" part but I'm not sure.

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

I'm pretty sure the fulness of the Gentiles was when God was done using the gentiles to judge Israel.

    Post the prophecy

Amos 8 is pretty clear that he was done with nation of Israel forever in Amos. How do you reconcile that? Amo 8:1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit. Amo 8:2 And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD...

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

I think that blindness only happened to those Jews alive up until AD 70 when the fullness of the gentiles came in.

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Matthew 24:30 is talking about the resurrection.

The Lord will fight for Israel and Jerusalem; Zech. 12

Excellent post! There are two Israel’s and two Jerusalems in the Bible and when you look at Old Testament prophecy you have to know which one is being referenced.

Doesn’t John 19:36 say the prophecy was fulfilled at the cross? Jhn 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. Jhn 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

    The Time is Fulfilled

I'm sorry for my ignorance but I would like to understand your view. What does Nehemiah 2 have to do with Daniel 9?
  13. I

    The Time is Fulfilled

I agree part of it is about Israel and earthly Jerusalem but it's concerning the end of Israel and earthly Jerusalem. Daniel 9 is a prophecy of the messiah coming and taking the kingdom away from the Jews.

    The Time is Fulfilled

I'm not ignoring the 7 and 62 weeks, I just don't know when the decree to restore and build Jerusalem was given. That's kind of what I'm hoping to learn in this discussion.

    The Time is Fulfilled

Palm Sunday started Passion week. Jesus kicked off the events that would lead to his death, burial and resurrection that week. That confirmed that the promises made to Abraham were accomplished. Paul mentions Jesus confirming that covenant here: Galatians 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant...

    The Time is Fulfilled

Thanks Eternally Grateful, that fits with my view of the 70 weeks. 69 weeks end on palm Sunday and the 70th week concluded when Jesus confirmed the covenant God made to Abraham.

    The Time is Fulfilled

I don't know when the 70 weeks started. I lean toward the 70 weeks being literal weeks mainly because of Daniel 9:27. Jesus literally fulfilled that verse exactly. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on palm Sunday, was crucified and rose again exactly one week later, confirming the covenant God made with...

    The Time is Fulfilled

I agree and Colossians 1:13 is a powerful verse.

    The Time is Fulfilled

I don't think the temple has anything to do with Daniel 9 but there are two things that we do know. Eliah (John the Baptist) came and restored all things and Jesus built heavenly Jerusalem as shown in Hebrew 12:22 that you posted.

    The Time is Fulfilled

I've been looking too.... not too much information about it for sure. I read an article online that claimed anywhere from 3 months to 3 years. It was a complicated read and I kind of got lost lol. Thanks for your input.
