    Walking in love?

Wow... Thanks Robbie for sharing your understanding. :) You can explain it better than I can!

    Why is God So Mean?

Amen brother! And thanks for the fellowship also... It's a blessing!

    Why is God So Mean?

Yes! Christ teaches us in all things and through all things! That is why it is not like religion; it's not a few hours a week... It's his life in us, all the time! ALL things work for the good of those who love Him!

    Walking in love?

That word comes from the mouth of God, it is spoken! It is not ink and paper... It has power. It is living. It can be recorded with ink on paper. But the power comes from God, and it is his speaking it that makes it alive.

    Why is God So Mean?

I agree Robbie. Here's a doozie that hit me like a ton of bricks once... I was reading 1st John and the Lord just opened my understanding on this. I had read it before, but I never understood it like this. 1 John 2:26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you...

    Why is God So Mean?

Yes! If the Holy Spirit is the one who makes you understand things, then isn't he the one you are actually following and being taught by? We are led of the Spirit. The Bible is a great tool through which the Spirit can teach us. But the Spirit is not handicapped, he can teach us something...

    Walking in love?

Thanks for contributing Rach! Yes, we are to love especially if we have God's truth. Even more, if we do not love our brothers and sisters, and we claim to love God, we are liars.

    Why is God So Mean?

Amen Robbie! It is amazing how we can fool ourselves! People will come telling us we can't trust ourselves, and yet they trust that WE can interpret the Bible. The key is Christ, and I would say that includes putting on his character; if we remain humble and broken, looking to God and...

    Why is God So Mean?

Yes, what he has said is written in the Bible. And it all points to Him! :) The word point to the Living Word, Jesus Christ! Isn't it marvelous? Hallelujah! :)

    Walking in love?

He loves. He is patient. But he loves righteousness. There was none, other than those 8. God desired to build a people for himself, and it was time for judgment. It was necessary. I do not have all the answers, but I know he had a reason and a purpose. There is a time for judgment (from God)...

    Why is God So Mean?

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Jesus said "Follow ME". You contradict the very word you claim to follow.

    Why is God So Mean?

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. A natural man reading the Bible does nothing unless the Spirit awakens him.

The absolute answer to our Nations difficulty...

We cannot mentally plan the work of God. God must call us and give us life. I agree with alot of what you say. But I see a big flaw in it. We cannot do the plans. We cannot make an action plan. That is God's place! He is the Master, he calls, he sends, he empowers, he anoints... And he...

    Why is God So Mean?

The Lord guides us THROUGH the word. But we are not LED of the word, but the Spirit. The letter kills, and if that is what we follow, it is a recipe for dead religion. It is our job to discipline ourselves, be humble, and not trust our own heart and allow God to work his cross in us. That...

We are not after some knowledge of our own reasoning, or some strength of our own understanding...

We are not after some knowledge of our own reasoning, or some strength of our own understanding, but after the life of Christ in us, that we might be like him!

The absolute answer to our Nations difficulty...

I agree with everything you just said RIGHT THERE :) But I disagree that we have all the tools and that we can somehow build. We can do nothing of eternal worth, only Christ THROUGH us can. We do not have the tools, and it is not in our will or time, but the Father decides.

    The Word of God

Yes. It is the one that the Lord sends. The Lord is the one who gives life, and his life is with those that are one with him. When they preach, his life is available! In all things, we must be led of the Spirit. All our studying is vain if we are not subject to the spirit of the Lord.

What is your preferred Bible Version?

I prefer the KJV... But it has no importance compared to the life of Christ in us! ;)
  19. Prentis

    Why is God So Mean?

Robbie, amen to that! The kingdom is NOT in word, but in POWER! The power of Christ in us! Yes, you are better off with no access to a Bible and Christ in you then with a Bible but without the life of Christ. HE is the one who gives life! The writing of the Bible didn't turn the world...

    Why is God So Mean?

Ok, Ive got a few people asking me questions as to what I said, Im going to take it one at a time. :) Ah, see, I do agree that the Bible is extremely valuable. When we take it in its entirety (with understanding) it really does show the truth. BUT, who is doing the interpreting? It cannot...
