    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

If we love we do obey all commandments. Loving God on holy days could mean violating some laws that some people think the holy day are all about. Putting Him first can be done in many ways on any days.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Love IS obedience. The more we love, the more we obey.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

You got it. We don't want to make it look impossible to have the free gift of eternal life. PS use it all you like.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Maybe a compromise position would be to say we are required to try to obey laws. We are not required to pretend we succeeded.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

We are required to love God as He loves us. He said whosever believes will have eternal life. I would not want to blow people away telling them all the laws they need to keep to be (or continue to be) a believer. Once He comes in, He works on all that. I posted this previously "Brethren, I...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I think I covered this in my last post to Godsgrace. As for 'bullied' that usually applies to someone stronger or bigger imposing things on those weaker. The strong position is the law of love and the freedom in Christ. You can't bully me.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The only law we are under is the law of love. The others are all well and good and cheers to people quietly trying to keep them the best they can. We are free from the laws of sin and of death. Free free free. Really free. Scott free. So if someone feels they can't eat meat, well fine. They are...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Yes. I brought it up. The whole thing (Sinai, exodus, etc) was all leading up to Jesus. His death, the sacrifice of God Almighty as a man on earth for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life to those that ask, is the greatest event by far. Moses throwing a hissy fit and breaking tablets etc is...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Good question. I did give a verse from Isa showing how He hates ritual celebration rather than love. I am not the one peddling holy day observances, not working, no movies, etc etc etc. If one means by 'sabbath keeping' that one harps on Sat and adds a list of things we should do on that day...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

By showing that rituals and laws are not really the spirit of the law I did that. Any other point?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The meaning of keeping the Sabbath with the Pharisees was not shared with the meaning of the day with Jesus. He was about healing and loving and they were about rituals and laws about Sabbath day. Jesus honoured that day. Just not the way the religious people did. His heart was always the same...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Well, salvation is not something we keep by good works any more than works gets us saved to begin with. As I said we are told to forgive our brothers 490 times if needed. That indicates that we sin and need to forgive and be forgiven. Paul did things he didn't like and did not do things he...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I think the guy tried. He did the best he could. He more or less kept the commandments. No one is perfect, but compared to others in the nation, he kept the commandments. As we got to know God better after this we see that what He wants is belief. Believe in Jesus and you shall be saved. So we...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

So He just explained what it would really mean to keep the ten commandments. I do not think anyone can keep them all the time. We can agree to disagree

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

No. The heart of the gospel is that it was all leading to Jesus. Setting the captives free in Egypt was just a step along the way. We will disagree there. So if people sin against others and ask forgiveness as Jesus told us to do, where does that leave them? Is God in those sinners? If you made...

Perhaps some should work on presentation?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I know we can try. Try. Try. But not even Paul counted himself to have attained. Naturally with Him inside us we will try to do what He wants. My issue is with those that seem to claim that we must obey all the commandments if we are saved or else we are not really saved.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

If righteousness came by the law then Christ is dead in vain. That was not the most important or dramatic scene. Jesus dying for us was. Only He could! False. Acts 21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

No. I think they were to show us we couldn't keep them, and that we need Jesus.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Yes. Why, did you think that meant keeping the ten commandments? I am not a psychic so you need to be clear.
