Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Again: keep beating up the sinner Joseph Smith all your want. I totally don't care. If you want the facts about what I believe (which is centered on Christ), I'm happy to talk about it.

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

    1) The appeal to historical roots. History is the biased account written by the political victors of any issue, and basely interrupted by people many years later. 2) The opposition of a person directly approaching God. Not all Catholic individuals hold this opposition, but I have observed...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, do you REALLY care about what I believe, or do you just want me to be Catholic? As discussed, I find Catholicism epistemological roots to be extremely weak.

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, a "Protestant" is a member of a church that traces it's historical roots back to the Protestant reformation. They hold true to several common beliefs such as Sola Scriptura, etc. That's not me.

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, I'm not a Protestant. This^ is a straw man argument: you're "defeating" a position nobody actually holds.

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

I acknowledge that's your view @tzcho2. You've made them abundantly clear. If at any point you'd like to listen to the facts of what I actually believe (not what you've been told by your teachers, but the facts), I'm game to talk.

    Seventh Day Adventist Beliefs

Ok, so a "damning heresy" does not involve damnation. Thank you for clarifying that. What then differentiates a "damning heresy" versus just a heresy?

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Wise words. In all my travels and studied of different groups, I've always found several things in every single group: 1) Devoted individuals whom love God with every fiber of their being and strive to best follow Him. 2) Sinners of every type. Prideful sinners, lustful sinners, slothful...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

@tzcho2, I have zero interest in proselytization of any kind -- giving, receiving, whatever. I have said that MANY times on this forum and in this conversation. And if you and to go beat up the sinner Joseph Smith, go right ahead. I will readily admit that he was a sinner, like every other...

Thank you, that means a lot, specially coming from you.

    Seventh Day Adventist Beliefs

@GerhardEbersoehn, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. I got that impression from this quote: It seems to me that you are calling what is being discussed here (SDA eschatological views) to not only to be heresy, but a damning heresy-- meaning that it keeps a person from...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

These are excellent questions, one that everyone ought to ponder. How does each person know that they are understanding scripture correctly? You'll find that if you come to understand that about yourself, it brings much greater self knowledge. Listening to other people's answers also...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Only a fool thinks they know every thing :)

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Thank you for your opinions as well here, Mary. No sinner is my God. Only God is my God. If any person choose to listen solely to me and make me their god, then such a person is in DESPERATE need of repentance. They should only worship the God, not me. They should know Him for themselves...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

I was highlighting how you and another post use the exact same approach to conversation. My beliefs are the result of thorough scripture study, speaking with God, and some pondering of misc information. I do not find history to be a strong epistemological method, as "history" is the account...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, I have shared my perspective constructively. Offered helpful tips on talking about Christ, and been respectful on you and your beliefs. I am sorry it upsets you that 1) I am not Catholic, and 2) I am also attacked at length by certain individuals that just believe nonsense about...

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, snark is not helpful to any conversation.

    Seventh Day Adventist Beliefs

Gerhard, I'm *trying* to understand you. I don't understand you right now, hence my stating "I'm confused". You seem to be giving contradictory responses. Can you please clarify your position?

Christ vs the anti-Christ: Who is winning?

Mary, I try my best to be constructive, respectful, and reply to what's actually being talked about in a thread.

    Calvinism is a Cult

I I have learned that when a person goes out out of their way to attack another group vehemently (including with blind miseducation), they are very likely to also vehemently many other groups-- in fact anybody that is not their own thoughts. I find that this says much much more about the...
