The crucifix is a beautiful symbol to remind us of just how much Jesus loves us, and how much we are called to love each other (and our enemies!) It would be idolatry if I believed the crucifix WAS God, and worshipped it as such.... Peace!

I find it encoraging . After what , 80 years? , of persecution and hiding , the Church is clearly healthy there. The culture in the west has deteriorated so much, that its only a matter of time till the Church suffers a persecution as bad or worse than it experienced in Russia... Hold fast...
