Colossians 2:14-16 - The Law That Was Against Us

Even if 613 is not the most accurate number, it is traditionally the number that has been shared as being the number of commandments that we are to obey in the Old Testament over and above the ten that were written by the finger of the Lord in stone. If it is not the literal number it can be...

A Christian who deny Jesus is God in Flesh

Jesus is less than the Father in His humanity. As concerning His Deity, He claimed to be equal (John 5:18). I think that it is definitely a reality that "non-trins" tend to come up with reasons why scriptures that preach the Trinity do not really say what they mean. If they simply took...

    The Case Against the Trinity

John 2:19-21 indicates that Jesus rose bodily from the dead three days after He died. The church was not born until the day of Pentecost, that was 53 days after the death of Christ. In John 2:19-21 the temple that Jesus is speaking of, in context, is His physical, human body that He was...

    Discerning : The Water Cults

All three are identified as baptism...but there is only one baptism.

    Discerning : The Water Cults

The 120 were in fact baptized at the juncture of John 4:1-2. Life-giving water... Rev 22:17, And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. My doctrine is not based in...

Repentance is the Gift Of God !

A gift must be received if you are going to have it; and therefore it can also be rejected. Repentance is a choice made by man.

So what's so new about the new Covenant, and is it better, really?

Tell me what you mean by Mitzvot laws. That the law applies to both Jew and Gentile should be evident in Romans 3:19-20. All the world will become guilty before God because of what is written in the law. So, the law applies as a standard for all that declares the guilt of every sinner.

    Discerning : The Water Cults

All three baptisms are the one baptism...it is a three-in-one propagation, much like the Trinity. That depends on whether they are confessing Christ before men in their baptism or not. If they are, then it definitely saves them (Christ will confess them before the Father and the angels as the...

So what's so new about the new Covenant, and is it better, really?

The law of the Old Testament is the law that we are no longer under, are dead to, and are delivered from; as concerning condemnation but not as concerning governance.

    Discerning : The Water Cults

I am not on your threads to learn from you but to combat the false doctrines that are taught by you. And that is not going to change.

    Discerning : The Water Cults

I suppose that if I retreated to start another thread every time that I was defeated logically, I still would not be starting a bunch of threads (because I am not defeated logically very often...hardly ever, in fact). But that seems to be what you do. You don't follow through and win the...

    The common denominator

You say that the non-elect are deservedly lost. But, does not your theology lend to the idea that those who are deservedly lost are in that situation not because they chose wickedness but because the Lord relegated them to a situation where they could be NOTHING BUT deservedly lost and could...

    The common denominator

Your point of view lends to the idea that we are either elect or non-elect; and that if we are the non-elect, not even doing what it takes to be saved is going to bring salvation to us. The only problem with this idea is that it is unbiblical. Jhn 6:37, All that the Father giveth me shall come...

So what's so new about the new Covenant, and is it better, really?

What Paul says about the law concerning adultery is part of an illustration that tells us that the law has died or that we have died to the law. As such, it identifies as separate from the fact that the law has died or that we have died to the law. This means that the law concerning adultery...

So what's so new about the new Covenant, and is it better, really?

That the law also died is evident in Romans 7:6. "that being dead wherein we were held" refers both to our flesh and the law. "the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death." (Romans 7:5). If the law did not die, we at the very least died...

A Christian who deny Jesus is God in Flesh

It is in the Bible. The blind man was not breaking grammatical rules in order to make a claim. His claim was that he was the same blind man that sat normally sat begging. When Jesus made His claim, the Pharisees understood Him (correctly) as making a claim to Deity.

    Discerning : The Water Cults

Going underneath the water and coming up out of it to "walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:4) is an identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; and as such it is a confession of Jesus before men. Read Matthew 10:32 to determine whether or not such a thing has the...

A Christian who deny Jesus is God in Flesh

Right...John 8:24 only makes the Deity of Christ, if that is what is being proclaimed by the words I AM, an essential for salvation. The real claim is in John 8:58, where Jesus breaks grammatical rules in order to make a claim (shifting from past tense to present tense) that referred back to...

Colossians 2:14-16 - The Law That Was Against Us

In regards to the OP (quoted above): It should be clear in Matthew 5:17-20 and in Colossians 3:10 that all 613 laws are binding on the person who is under the law.

A Christian who deny Jesus is God in Flesh

I also, think that you don't believe in the Deity of Christ because you don't want to believe in the Deity of Christ. And, while I don't understand that perspective, I do think that it results in a bias on your part when it comes to your reading of holy scripture.
