Was Peter ever in Rome? What saith the Scriptures?

You make a key point that in my mind is a deal breaker. There was a very large Jewish population in Babylon. Peter was an apostle to the Jews, so it makes sense for him to have been there. Peter knew that Paul was evangelizing the Greco-Roman world, so it also makes sense that he would have left...

Is believing in the trinity necessary to be a christian?

If I may... Jesus never became GOD; he always has been GOD. He is the image, or form, of the invisible GOD, and preexisted the son as the logos. Jesus isn't the father because he is the son, but the two are one. Your body is not your soul, but the two are one. Have you never in your life talked...

    It is finished

Before he sinned, Adam had one mind. He did not know evil, so he was one with GOD. Afterwards, he knew evil and became one with evil, just like when a man knows a woman he becomes one flesh with her. At this point Adam had a mind that knew GOD and a mind of the flesh that knew evil. Because GOD...

    It is finished

I disagree with your first paragraph, but think the second is excellent. Regarding the first, it would be impossible for a corrupted man (Adam) to produce perfect offspring. Therefore, if imperfect, the conscience knows and incurs guilt, which is death.

    It is finished

This is an excellent point. Adam died the moment he knew evil. Subsequently, it would be impossible for one of his descendents to not have a defiled conscience. And a defiled conscience ends in death. The soul that is born IS already dead because its conscience is already defiled through the...

    It is finished

Romans may not, but the first commandment certainly does suggest that descendants do incur a forensic liability through the father: I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not...

    Chapter 14

FYI, the Greek verb translated split in 'the rocks were split' in Matthew 27:51 is the same Greek verb translated split in the 'Mt of Olives will be split' in Zechariah 14:4 in the LXX. A better translation is rend, or tear apart. See Mystery of Azal in link below for more details.

Is believing in the trinity necessary to be a christian?

There are alternatives to modalism. Trinitarians misrepresent this issue continually.

Is believing in the trinity necessary to be a christian?

Flee from anyone who tries to impose that requirement on you. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the nations, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 For now...

    Rob Bell

Very much so. Here are two excellent exposes of the Emergent movement, of which Bell is a key part: * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxY3VbBHTkY&list=UUx9UbfJQmRYusnANHoNbF4Q&index=5 * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfLjAh-mWso

    Tithing

I have to say that since I refused to tithe, the Lord has blessed me financially far and above anything I have ever experienced. Are they connected? No. Neither is your logic, which is really just a repeated manipulation and con of pop-Christian leaders who make merchandise of GOD's people...

    Chapter 14

Y Yes, I am familiar with BethHaEtsel. I think it's in Micah. No one knows where it was. Perhaps the real pronunciation was BethHaAtzal, and has something to do with Azal. I have not yet been able to make a connection. I just looked, Micah 1:11. The LXX translates it as 'the house next to...

    Chapter 14

Actually, except perhaps for the very last sentence of verse 5, they have been fulfilled. The verse 5 that you listed is not what Zechariah wrote. It is a translation of a corrupted text. What he actually wrote is found in the Septuagint (LXX), the very same bible that the apostles used: The...

    Zechariah 14:1-5

All of the questions you raised are based on a myth that has come about because of a faulty translation in many bibles. Search the Internet for zechariah + azal + yasul to really understand what is going on with those verses.

    Receiving The Revelation 16:15 Scripture

How does one even respond to such idiocy?

    Receiving The Revelation 16:15 Scripture

What an embarrassment so many Christians are to the name of Christ.

    Receiving The Revelation 16:15 Scripture

My authority is based in indisputable fact; truth is its own authority. If it's not the truth, dispute the facts. If you can't dispute the facts, why don't you believe the truth? By what authority do you decide that one part of verse 5 cannot be separated from the other part? The original...

    Receiving The Revelation 16:15 Scripture

Translations that say THE day of the lord are wrong. The Hebrew says A day of YHWH. No, I do not believe the part of verse 5 you mentioned has occurred. It could possibly be interpreted to mean Jesus and his disciples during his first advent, but I am disinclined to follow that. When one...

    Receiving The Revelation 16:15 Scripture

No.1 actually says A day, not THE day. The lack of a definite article means that this verse can't be used to prove this verse (and what follows) refers to the lord's return. The last part of no. 4 is not right. I believe the last sentence of no. 5 actually belongs with verse 6. Yes. Jesus has...
