    Assurance of salvation

It's not a matter of accepting someone; it's a matter of righteousness. A court date is coming in which every person will have to answer for their sins.

    Assurance of salvation

I think it's more accurate to say that God forgives all men. However, he will not coerce any to come to him. Some love darkness more than light. Without the cleansing offerred by forgiveness, these will remain in their sins. God will allow them to do that because that is what they choose.

Can A Person Be a Christian And A Sinner At The Same Time ?

I'm not sure what Lively Stone is talking about, but the apostle Paul referred to the flesh as the old man and a believer's life in Christ as the new life, or new creation.

Can A Person Be a Christian And A Sinner At The Same Time ?

If the old is gone, how does the new sin?

Can A Person Be a Christian And A Sinner At The Same Time ?

Your new nature is in heaven seated with Christ. Yet I believe you sent that last post from earth. That means you are still in your corrupted flesh, the works of which you put to death through faith so that you may one day attain to that incorruptible body in heaven. All flesh is wicked, sinful...

Can A Person Be a Christian And A Sinner At The Same Time ?

Without reading into the text, Paul said "I am foremost" of sinners, not "I was foremost". It seems to me that some are stumbling over semantics when using the word sinner. The word can mean: (1) one who practises sin, and (2) one who has a sin nature. Obviously, the first is not saved. Any...

    The Sabbath Principles

I didn't say the 10 commandments are a stumbling block. The stone of stumbling is Christ.

    I'm new.

Are you 100% sure about that?

    Where is the dividing line?

I comprehend what you're saying, but don't agree with it; which makes me realize even more that the trinity should not be included in a divisional creed because (1) it has nothing to do with salvation, and (2) from what I've read, I consider you a godly person. The son is the father's first and...

    Where is the dividing line?

If you think spirit and emotions are equivalent, or that the spirit is not cognitive, you are not even on first base yet. As regarding your second comment, you apparently must not have very good reading comprehension. btw, before this conversation devolves into a thread hijacking, if you want...

    Where is the dividing line?

The first sentence is your opinion. I reject the idea of separate persons because it is nonsensical, not to my mind, but to my spirit. My carnal mind can conceive the idea of multiple Gods. "Anyone with a shred of imagination can conceive" of multiple Gods. That is the essence of ancient pagan...

    Where is the dividing line?

This comment is nonsensical to me. The doctrine that God is three distinct persons has always seemed extraordinarily bizarre to me. I just don't believe it; and it really has nothing to do with salvation. We are all made in the image of God; and we all have a spirit, soul, and body. Is each one...

Ten Reasons Why Most Believers Don't Seriously Question Their Faith

Obviously, the OP was a copy/paste. year2027's rambling sounds like another poster on here who posts under multiple accounts.

    Assurance of salvation

Richard is dead to the law; it is a legal, judicial issue. He is obviously alive in his sinful flesh. Christ is able to live in Richard because he has been anointed with the the holy spirit and made holy. Christ is able to live through him if he puts the deeds of the flesh to death by walking in...

    Freedom From Our Sins

I agree with you completely, except I clarified (as I see it) one point above. I repeat: we are not yet in our new sinless bodies. Our walk can be sinless though (based on our faith, of course). So that brings me to the point of why I even took issue with you in the first place, and my ongoing...

    Sons of God

The standard of measure used depends on various things. If the NT references an OT verse that is found in the LXX, but not the MT, I go with the LXX: and vice versa. If the historical and other evidence clearly shows that one version is correct and the other bogus, I go with the former. And then...

    Freedom From Our Sins

I agree with you completely. The only uncertainity in my mind deals with the many scriptures that clearly indicate our sin is still a matter of great importance to God. Not legally, but from a sanctification standpoint. I don't yet have a handle on if your approach of denying you have sin is...

    Sons of God

Remember that fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. The witness that the nephilim are hybrid offspring of fallen angels and women isn't found in the bible, but that idea is central to ancient pagan religions. In other words, it's a pagan idea. Caveat emptor.

    Sons of God

Between the Masoretic Text and the LXX? Depends on the verse. Sometimes one is right, and the other wrong, and vice versa.
