John MacArthur says you have nothing to do with being "born again"

I did just notice that in John 6:37, the word "giveth" applies to the Father giving the person to Jesus; while in John 6:65, the word "given" applies to the fact that it is given to the person by the Father that they might come to Jesus. So that may have a bearing on our final understanding of...

John MacArthur says you have nothing to do with being "born again"

It's alright, @Tong2020. I have come to the understanding that Irresistible Grace is the reality, based on our discussion and a quoting of the verses in the following order: Jhn 6:44, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day...

I'm praying for you, @BreadOfLife (or, rather, as you read this, I have prayed for you).

    Jesus isn't Catholic

Rom 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Pray something like this (out loud, right where you...

Jhn 6:44, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Jhn 6:65, And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. Jhn 6:37, All that the Father giveth me shall...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

A few more verses that the Lord is giving me in my prayers for you: 2Co 6:2, (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Rom 5:5, And hope maketh not ashamed...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

Here is a third verse that the Lord gave me for you upon further prayer: Heb 6:1, Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

John MacArthur says you have nothing to do with being "born again"

I have mentioned what I believe it means to be drawn to Christ; that it is an opportunity given to a man wherein he can make a decision for or against Christ that is unhindered by the demonic and/or the fact that he was born dead in trespasses and sins. As for "granted" in John 6:65, I consider...

52% of professing christians do not believe the GOSPEL !

Hi @Hidden In Him, It is true that the love of Christ compels us to preach the gospel who have been called to preach the gospel; and I think that this is what Paul meant by "Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel." The very gospel that he preached was one of salvation by grace through faith...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

Hi @BreadOfLife, I was praying for you tonight and I believe that the Lord has spoken to me and wants me to give you two verses. Isa 64:6, But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have...

    THE NEW COVENANT FOR ISRAEL

Yes indeed, @Mungo... Ephesians 3:6 says it clearly enough.

52% of professing christians do not believe the GOSPEL !

I disagree with that statement. I consider myself an evangelical and I have both grounding and roots.

John MacArthur says you have nothing to do with being "born again"

It does indeed mean salvation; because Jesus said that whoever comes to Him, He will by no means cast out. In other words, those who come to Jesus are accepted in the kingdom.

    BIBLE GOSPELS

What other thing saves (other than faith) in Romans 4:5-6, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 11:5-6? It seems to me that works are excluded from being conjoined with faith in what saves a man.

    Jesus isn't Catholic

We are not to go to the saints or Mary or a priest to get to God...Jesus Christ is the singular mediator there.

    The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus

    See Ephesians 3:19-20, 1 Corinthians 6:17, Ephesians 5:30-32.

    Jesus isn't Catholic

At the time it was the Lutherans. Later, new revelations came about the holy scriptures because there was freedom to explore them. Those who rejected those new revelations created the splits that you are talking about. Of course we need the Holy Spirit to be able to discern what is the real...

Rom 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Rom 4:6, Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Here, faith is counted as righteousness to him...
