    Grace vs Legalism

It is ugly and not what one would expect of real Christians. This is a Christian forum, but many do not behave with kindness and are not 'tenderhearted" as the Bible tells us to be.

    Grace vs Legalism

Also, have I admitted that I still sin? I sinned recently, and confessed, and repented. So, that sin is under the blood. And as for present and future sins, I do not believe I am sinning currently....and time will tell as to whether I will sin in the future. cont'd from post #256 (Grace vs...

    Grace vs Legalism

I consider that my salvation will be found according to what Paul said in 1 Timothy 4:16, so I am not worried.

    Grace vs Legalism

It really should be against the rules to accuse other people of lying on these boards. It waxes ugly only after a short while.

    Grace vs Legalism

Hi @BarnyFife, Eternal security is evident in John 5:24 (kjv), as well as 1 John 2:17 for those who abide according to 1 John 3:6.

    Grace vs Legalism

@Behold is actually right about the fact that sin is not imputed to us as believers (Romans 6:14, Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19, Romans 7:6; Romans 4:15, Romans 5:13, Romans 4:8). However he is wrong to think that this means that we are without sin as believers; and he is also wrong to think that...

The relationship between faith and works.

I'm not sure I'm following you...what did he say that was an accusation?

    Grace vs Legalism

C'mon.... It is Common Sense 101 to realize that the kingdom of God to a certain extent means our entrance into heaven itself.

    Grace vs Legalism

No, the reason why you didn't quote the end of verse 21 is that it contradicts the epitome of what you are teaching here. It says that if you commit the works of the flesh, you will not inherit the kingdom of God. I believe that the reason why you teach that they are the works of the flesh and...

The relationship between faith and works.

What he said there, is actually not deficient in gospel truth. We are redeemed solely through the blood of the Cross, our performance has nothing to do with it. A good "performance" has everything to do with the work of the Holy Spirit that comes as the result of being truly saved, however.

Although, when our inheritance in the KOG is mentioned, it is very likely referring to our heavenly mansion and our entrance into heaven itself....which can be forfeited by us if we lose our faith because our hearts were hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

The relationship between faith and works.

That is not what I am teaching. To know what I am teaching, you would have to read everything that I have written on these boards over the last two years or so since I started posting on these boards. I agree.

    Grace vs Legalism

He will continue to be able to teach many. His works follow after him. Why didn't you quote the rest of verse 21?

How to recognize a real Teacher... Pt 2

@Behold, I have never said that we sanctify ourselves. I hold to the teaching found here: 2Th 2:13, But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of...

    Grace vs Legalism

Gnosticism teaches that spirit is good and that matter is evil. And that therefore what we do in the flesh doesn't matter. This is, in effect, what you appear to be teaching. That is a good defense for your false theology, I suppose; to claim that I am misinformed as to what the false...

    Baptism in Jesus' Name (poll).

I was asking this question of @Deborah, but thank you for your input.

    Legalism Denies The Cross

That sanctification is "practical" is in fact a biblical concept (1 John 3:7, 1 John 3:17-18).

How to recognize a real Teacher... Pt 2

Explain to us, Obi-wan, how discipleship differs from the sanctifying work in a believer's life. I believe that sanctification is God's part, and discipleship our part, in the very same thing.

    Spotting the Heretic

Nope. Also, you have three fingers pointing back at you.

    Grace vs Legalism

Gnosticism teaches that spirit is good and matter is evil; and that therefore what we do in the flesh doesn't matter. The latter part of this is, in effect, what you appear to be teaching.
