    Christ vs. the Torah

And you accuse me of being wrong and in error...yet will not point out what the error is that you see. If I am wrong on something, I want to know what that something is so that I can change my pov.

    Christ vs. the Torah

You simply have an unteachable spirit.

    The Purpose of the Law

I am certainly not attacking you here...but I feel as though you are attacking me.

    The Purpose of the Law

By all means, lay it on the line. Show forth what it is that I believe that is contrary to all of scripture.

    The Purpose of the Law

Where do you get the idea that I am like the Pharisees in this manner?
  6. J

    Christ vs. the Torah

I can see that you are not a serious Bible student (because you are not willing to take out your Bible and look up the verses).
  7. J

    Christ vs. the Torah

Was Jesus disobedient in spirit when He violated sabbath in John 5:1-18? (again, I was not taught about this by Calvary Chapel; but learned it in personal reading and Bible Study).

    The Purpose of the Law

Actually, you are failing to see that my belief system is already determined by holy scripture....so if any corrections need to be made from holy scripture, any new scripture that is brought to bear on my faith will be integrated into what I already believe as the result of studying holy scripture.

    The Purpose of the Law

You have never brought any scripture to bear on what I teach as far as I know.

    Christ vs. the Torah

This is not a Calvary Chapel teaching as far as I know... But as believers in Christ, we are not under the law (Romans 6:14), we are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and we are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6). As such, as concerning condemnation, it is as if there is no law...

    Christ vs. the Torah

The change in law has to do with moving from being bound to the letter to being obedient to the spirit of what is written (Romans 7:6, 2 Corinthians 3:6).

    The Purpose of the Law

By all means, follow me. And feel free to correct me any time I say anything that is contrary to what holy scripture teaches. I don't think that you will be able to find me doing so. I don't believe that I reject any scriptures that I am aware of; I try to integrate everything in holy...

    Christ vs. the Torah

Heb 7:11, If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? Heb 7:12, For the priesthood being changed...

    The Purpose of the Law

If you were to show what you think the false teachings to be, you can be certain that if those teachings are biblical, they would be defended biblically by those who understand those teachings. But apparently you want to lambast the movement without any accountability, so you do so and do not...

    The Purpose of the Law

Show me what the truth is, that is contrary to what CC teaches. No one has ever come to me correcting me with scripture; because I study to shew myself approved, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. And I also back up my statements with holy scripture...

    Christ vs. the Torah

The crucifixion did not subtract from the Torah. Change it, it did (Hebrews 7:12).
  17. J

    The Purpose of the Law

What is the nature of this "false gospel" that Calvary Chapel teaches? Can you define what this false gospel is? What is it that they preach that you deem to be so horrible?

    The Purpose of the Law

Also, they cannot go far wrong when they are given the mandate to teach through the word of the Lord chapter by chapter and book by book. For they will find themselves corrected by scripture as time passes if they begin to teach anything falsely.

    The Purpose of the Law

I consider that this is persecution for righteousness' sake... Many people become born again through the Calvary Chapel Movement.
