    The Purpose of the Law

I stand as a Berean (Acts of the Apostles 17:10-11) concerning everything that I am taught. I do not always go by what comes to me from the pulpit of the Calvary Chapel Movement; but I check what is said by the holy scriptures to determine whether these things are so. I suggest that all who...

    The Purpose of the Law

And why is that? because you have a personal bias against the church that I attend?

Irrefutable proof that Jesus is God.

Jesus is the only begotten "Son" of God. We are sons of God, 1 John 3:1-2. Jesus is actually the firstbegotten, Hebrews 1:6.

    The Purpose of the Law

I would suggest reading the passages in question and then looking at the comments that I made about them.

    What does it mean?

There is one Lord in holy scripture (Ephesians 4:5, 1 Corinthians 8:6); and that Lord is the Father (Matthew 11:25, Luke 10:21). However, no one can say that Jesus is the Lord except by the Spirit of truth (1 Corinthians 12:3). And Jesus is the Lord (1 Corinthians 8:6). Now, figure that one out!

    The Purpose of the Law

So, @Blood Bought 1953, I would ask you about Galatians 5:17... Gal 5:17, For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. impaho, there are two ways of looking at this...

    The Purpose of the Law

Someone might want to repeat my post above not in a quote (you can take the credit if you wish). Because @CL has placed me on Ignore and therefore has become deaf to the things that I would say to her. Iow, she has hardened her heart to anything that might come from me as a teacher.

    The Purpose of the Law

@CharismaticLady, The scripture has concluded all under sin in order that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe (Galatians 3:22). Even those who were sticklers for the law in Paul's day, couldn't keep it (Galatians 6:13). For all have sinned and come short...

    Blood and Water

That both blood and water came out was evidence that He truly died, through a rupture of the heart. Medically this is viable.

    The woman caught in adultery.

And I simply pointed out that you were taking on the nature and employment of the accuser. Yes...and I believe that if you are not saved, He will save you as the result of my prayer....if you do not harden your heart against the testimony of the Holy Ghost. I felt that you were accusing me...

    The woman caught in adultery.

Now I feel the need to apologize to you, @BreadOfLife. I feel that the Lord is telling me that it is in your love language to call other people out on their sins and that you have been in effect attempting to love me in the love of the Lord with your behaviour. I don't know that saying that...

    Spotting the Heretic

So, you do not burn incense to Mary as the queen of heaven? Mary was a sinful human being who needed Christ to be her Saviour...see Luke 6:47. Therefore if you burn incense to her, or if other Catholics do; are they not worshiping a false god also? I've never been a Catholic so I don't know...

    Christ vs. the Torah

I believe that the law is written on the hearts and in the minds of New Covenant believers (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4). So the law of God as a universal requirement on human behaviour is a part of the New Covenant (not just the Old).

    Spotting the Heretic

I'm talking about the queen of heaven in the book of Jeremiah...I'm not certain that you can show me any verse where she is worshiped. Burned incense to, yes. Worshiped, no. Unless you can point out a verse where she is worshiped. You are the genius that is misinterpreting that scripture...

    Spotting the Heretic

God has said that when we are tempted He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). That way of escape, for some, is to simply focus on Jesus until the temptation passes. Hope this helps.

    The Purpose of the Law

@CharismaticLady, If you are relying on your not sinning as being your salvation, then you need to realize that all 613 laws apply as definers of sin (Galatians 3:10, James 2:10, Romans 3:19-20, 1 John 3:4, Matthew 5:18-19) and if you are in violation of any one of them, you are a sinner...

    Spotting the Heretic

I'm not certain that the queen of heaven in scripture was worshiped either. They burned incense to her...they didn't necessarily worship her.

    Spotting the Heretic

So, burn incense to the queen of heaven. Then go read the book of Jeremiah. See 1 Corinthians 1:18-21. Yes, the Cross of Jesus Christ means that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20-21).
