Help... the four creatures in front of the throne in Revelation

That goes against a couple thousand years' worth of tradition. The Bible describes cherubim as having wings and faces, animal attributes, and they seem to be used as God's throne/chariot. They are depicted that way in art from Babylon, Persia, and the other surrounding countries:

The Deception of Tithing and Paid Pastors

Early churches met in homes every day of the week. There was a larger gathering once weekly that was typically held outside of the town, at an amphitheater or pnyx.

Many Say ‘Just BELIEVE’… But What Did JESUS Actually TEACH?

I find that Jesus teaches the commandments differently than Moses. Moses teaches a nation to enforce the commandments upon each other. There's an idea of holding others accountable that may involve a judge, or stoning a particularly pernicious sinner to death. Jesus specifically repudiates...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

There are actually two sets of instructions for that in the Bible 1. Resist an accuser 2. Flee temptation It's needful to identify the nature of your battle, in order to respond correctly.

No, sir... I'm pointing them out.

    Biblical Archaeology

Definitely maybe? :phew: The Rider on the White Horse first appears in Rev 6, which seems to contain some symbolism. The other 3 horsemen are War, Famine, and Death. If there's symbolism here, it's pretty thin IMO. The Rider on the White Horse is clearly the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Biblical Archaeology

The books of Daniel and Revelation work that way, with Revelation modeling itself on Daniel. I'm not sure Ezekiel 1 requires interpretation. The chapter aims to introduce God speaking to Ezekiel, in majesty and glory, being borne upon the cherubim and above all the creation. If it's literal...

That doesn't negate that they are named as cherubim later. The vision includes cherubim

Ezekiel specifically names them as cherubim in chapters 9-10

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I don't think it's that simple. In the Old Testament the LORD ordered a genocide... more than once. He told His people to do the job. If that's true - and it is - then "love your enemy" isn't a commandment for every time and place. So then, when/where are we supposed to love our enemy, and...

IRAN: from 500 to 5 Million Christians

Man, he talks slow. I changed the speed to 1.5x and he still talks slow. They came from the Persian empire, but more likely from within the borders of modern 'Iraq,' rather than 'Iran.' Babylon was the center of all things to do with astronomy/astrology.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

You shouldn't accuse @Matthias of being a Muslim sympathizer. He hasn't done that. False accusations are... bad. If you must accuse him of something, you might call him a 'criticizer of Christianity.' He would (I think?) agree to that label. I agree. Self-defense is allowable. The...

Help... the four creatures in front of the throne in Revelation

Good post. The Canaanites, of which Tyre is the leading city, were not ALWAYS pagans. Elohim (God) was their chief deity once, before they went astray and made Baal and Dagon their leading gods. Ezekiel seems to preserve the memory of this fall from grace. The connection to Eden is also...

Help... the four creatures in front of the throne in Revelation

Yes. They are Cherubim, which is a type of angel. No. They correspond, but I don't think the one is meant to be built on the other. The sections around the Tabernacle in the wilderness are based on the constellations in the night sky. Revelation's imagery here is also built on the...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Agreed. Every army that undertook a long-distance march did that. It's necessarily logistically. The soldiers can't physically carry enough food for a 2,000 mile march. The Roman legions had rules about what they could and couldn't do with the locals. The Assyrians built siege ramparts...

Oh that isn't just my church, I said the church. It doesn't seem to be a new thing, either. Look at them Pharisees and Sadducees in your NT
