    Doctrine of Predestination

But the verses I quoted, Ephesians 1:5-7, don't only mention predestination. They mention things which apply to all Christians. Paul certainly wasn't saying that only apostles were adopted into God's family, accepted by God, redeemed or forgiven. So why should the predestination apply only to...

    Doctrine of Predestination

The idea of 1stCenturyLady that only the apostles were predestined is not found in Calvinism at all, so why call her post "Calvinist lies and deception?"

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I may be mistaken, but I thought that Bread of Life, to whom I was replying, had been talking about baptism in water rather than baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Senior Pastor Is Most Important

Yes, the word is used in the bible of all the overseers of a local church. For example, the epistle to the church at Philippi opens: “Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:” (Php 1:1 NKJV) If there...

I have decided to follow Jesus?

No, simply trying to correct your mistaken understanding of what Calvinists believe. They do not believe that God forbids the majority from being saved, as you said. They believe that all who truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are saved. That is just untrue. As I have tried to explain...

    Doctrine of Predestination

But Paul's words to the Ephesian Christians were not only abut the apostles: “having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

But the verses you quoted from Colossians say that the circumcision Paul is referring to is not performed by human hands. Baptism is performed by human hands. For that reason, I say that the circumcision mentioned in Colossians 2:11 is not baptism.

the Messianic Bloodline was through a woman!

Where in the bible re we told that Mary was the ark of the New Covenant? And what do you mean by Joseph being in contact with a descendant of David? I am sure that in his work as a carpenter he would have come into contact with many people.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

The only place in the bible where circumcision of the heart is mentioned doesn't say it is baptism: “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not...

The Senior Pastor Is Most Important

Yes, and I cannot think of any bible passage that mentions the supposed office of "senior pastor" (or junior pastor, come to that ). The only verse where "pastors" are mention is this one: “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and...

Re the Deity of Yeshua HaMashiach

Yet He also said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9)

    Doctrine of Predestination

Your Sproul quote is biblical. It is another way of saying what Jesus said, that He lay down His life for the sheep, those whom God the Father has given Him: ““But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow...

    Doctrine of Predestination

No I don't know what a cult teaches, because I am not in a cult. I do know what Calvinism teaches, and it certainly doesn't teach that only few are saved, as you claim it does. Far from trying to fool people, I am attempting to correct your false ideas of what Calvinism is.

WHAT DID PAUL MEAN BY BEING A CASTAWAY?

"Castaway" is one of the words in English that means something different today than it did in 1611. Now, it means somebody like Robinson Crusoe, i.e. someone who has been shipwrecked and stranded in an isolated place. The NKJV has "disqualified," which seems to fit the context far better.

I have decided to follow Jesus?

No they don't believe that. They believe, as the bible says, that all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are saved. They don't claim to know whether the number saved will be the majority of the human population, or a minority. God has not told us who will be saved, or how many.
  16. David Lamb

    Doctrine of Predestination

That seems to be a commonly-held but false idea about Calvinism. Calvinism does not say that only a few are saved. Calvinists, like other Christians, believe what we are told in Revelation about there being a multitude which no man can number in heaven. It would be a false doctrine if...

I have decided to follow Jesus?

Yes, repentance involves turn from sin and turning to God.

WHAT DID JOHN MEAN THAT JESUS WAS THE PROPITIATION FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD?

We must repent, but we cannot cleanse our sins by repenting. That is done only by the blood of Jesus Christ: “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1Jo 1:7 NKJV)

    Doctrine of Predestination

The doctrines I believe may be similar to what Calvin believed, but I don't believe them because Calvin taught them, but because I find things such as God's election before the foundation of the earth, predestination, and the perseverance of the saints, taught in the bible. I had not even heard...

    Doctrine of Predestination

Calvinists certainly do not believe that God is a liar. They do believe the verses which talk about God not being willing that any should perish. But they also believe that God's word says that not everybody will be saved (sheep and goats, heaven and hell, etc.) I would suggest that calling...
