Is the claim of only one God false? - How many gods are there?

Where does the bible say that Molech and the rest were fallen angels with Satan? Where does it say they were real? Take Baal, for instance. We have only to consider the incident on Mount Carmel to see the unreality (if that is a word) of Baal: “26 So they (the prophets of Baal) took the...

Is the claim of only one God false? - How many gods are there?

I take those rulers, authorities, powers and spiritual forces of evil to be the devil and his cohorts. We would not need heavenly armour to fight against those idols Psalm 115 describes as having eyes but not seeing, ears but not hearing and so on.

I don't agree. There is one God. The "gods" were only real in their man-made representations.

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

It doesn't disturb me at all, for the reason that I have given. Verses and chapters are not part of the inspired word of God. They were added to help people find their way around the bible hundreds of years later. Sorry, that was my fault, because I neglected to include the Scripture verses...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

Does Scripture teach that each truth must be stated within one verse? How can it, when the bible, as originally given was not divided into chapters and verses? Well, there may be some theologians who make such an acknowledgement, but most wouldn't. For exmple, the theologians who formated...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

Why does it have to be in one verse? Chapters and verses were only added to our bibles hundreds of years after God gave His word. It is not "my nonsense" to say that Jesus is fully God and fully man. It's a basic Christian belief. I can give bible reference that say that Jesus is fully God...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

I cannot prove them to someone such as yourself who seems determined not to believe them.

Is the claim of only one God false? - How many gods are there?

I know that the plural Elohim is used to refer to the true God. Right from Genesis 1:1 God is referred to as "Elohim." The God uses the plural "us" of Himself: “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the...

Limited atonement is a false gospel

Where does the bible say that hell is over and done with, or "done and over" as you put it? Whom do you mean by "Those whom were poured out of hell?" Where does the bible mention people being poured out of hell? Where does the bible say that hell has two compartments?

Is the claim of only one God false? - How many gods are there?

Yet there are verses like these that explain what those other "gods" are: “For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.” (Ps 96:5 NKJV) “Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

I see, so you accept that I hold traditional Christian beliefs, and orthodox (lower case o!) Christianity. So do (I imagine) the majority here. I can only go by the posts I read here, but it certainly seems as though many do believe in the full deity and humanity of Christ.

Limited atonement is a false gospel

If Christ made atonement for all people, then you have to believe that He made atonement for those who end up in hell. That doesn't fit with what Jesus Himself said: ““All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (Joh 6:37 NKJV) Nor...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

Many of the things Jesus Christ said and did whilst on this earth are things that only God could say or do, forgiving sins, knowing precisely what people were thinking, raising the dead, and His claim in John 14:6: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one come to the Father except through...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

But as I have just said in my other reply to you, His human nature came via Mary, but she became pregnant, not by coming together with Joseph, but by the action of the Holy Spirit: “Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

It's not that I don't want to explore biblical truths. Rather, it is that I find in your posts so many teachings that seem to go against what Scripture clearly teaches about Jesus Christ, and about other things too. Although this part of the discussion has been mainly between me and you, I am...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

I obviously haven't made myself clear to you. I said (I thought clearly) that Jesus refers to His Sonship in various ways, not just by calling Himself the Son of God, but by saying that He had come down from heaven, that God is His Father, etc. Yes there is. He said "I and My Father are one."...

I have my doubts that Catholicism is Christianity

It doesn't disturb me at all. Whether He Himself said it, or others said it, whether He said the exact words, "I am the Son of God," or said the same thing in different words, like calling God the Father "My Father," which He does 57 times, matters not. I agree that the bible teaches He shared...

Rejecting Christ, or rejecting "Christianity"? (the church) ???

To whom does Paul address the letter to the Romans? Everybody? No, he is writing to the Christian believers in Rome: “To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ro 1:7 NKJV) It is to Christian believers...

Rejecting Christ, or rejecting "Christianity"? (the church) ???

But Doctrines simply means teachings, so doctrines of grace are bible teachings about the grace of God.

Rejecting Christ, or rejecting "Christianity"? (the church) ???

"Doctrines of Grace" is not a term of Hyper-Calvinism. Many who espouse Calvinistic doctrines use the term. What do you think is "Hyper-Calvinistic" about it?
