[1Corinthians 9:27 KJV] 27 But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Paul is not saying that if he was a castaway it means he has lost his salvation.

Paul was saying he would be reprobate.

[Jeremiah 6:30 KJV] 30 Reprobate silver shall [men] call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.

Paul was saying he would be rejected, unfit or not approved.

1 Corinthians 9:23-27 KJV
23) And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
24) Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25) And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26) I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Context is king . . . as they say.

Agreed, this is not "castaway from salvation", it's about being disqualified from receiving a crown.

Much love!

He certainly is. And you understood exactly what he was saying.

"Castaway" is one of the words in English that means something different today than it did in 1611. Now, it means somebody like Robinson Crusoe, i.e. someone who has been shipwrecked and stranded in an isolated place. The NKJV has "disqualified," which seems to fit the context far better.
