    Why the great chain?

You obviously don’t understand what amils believe the binding actually is. I don’t believe what you think I believe in you post. Why is the purpose of the binding for a thousand years if billions of people switch side as soon as satan is released?

    Why the great chain?

Yes amen thanks and yes I can’t understand why premills think literally

    Why the great chain?

Then how do you answer that multiple of millions of people today and since the cross from all of the nations aren't deceived anymore due to the gospel? How do you answer that a room of a handful of people on the day of Pentecost spread the gospel to the whole known world within about 30-40...

    Why the great chain?

Or asking a sensible reasonable question.

    Why the great chain?

That’s my point but the other way around if we have a literal prison why need or use a chain?

    Why the great chain?

No, let me clarify the bottomless pit is symbolic for satan being bound by deceiving us through the truth and the power of the gospel. The gospel reveals the truth to us and if we stay connected to it satan can’t deceive us he might as well be bound in a pit. But he can deceive those who don’t...

    Why the great chain?

It’s a spiritual condition we are warned to stay on guard so that we don’t fall into temptation to sin

    Why the great chain?

But God could just speak satan bound just like when Jesus cast out demons He only spoke it. I think it’s up to us, I believe that the great chain is the power and truth of the gospel which binds satan from deceiving us, but we have to play a part in it we have to choose to believe be obedient...

    Why the great chain?

But why have one if he is also locked in the abyss?
  11. Marty fox

    Why the great chain?

Why would you need that in a literal sense if he is also locked in a literal abyss?

    Why the great chain?

Yes I agree with your view on the great chain and the thousand years that’s my purpose to this thread to get literalist to think about it. If the great chain and abyss are literal then there is no need for the great chain I don’t agree with your view on Jesus and Michael but thats a different...

    Why the great chain?

Revelation 20 1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it...

    My personal eclectic view

Yes the wrath of God for the price of sin was satisfied on Jesus but that is not the wrath of God on unbelievers in Revelation. Jesus paid the price so we wouldn’t have to for sin but that has nothing to do with persecution on the church by men.

Well the word “the” was from the tribulation of the saints which isn’t the wrath of God.

    My personal eclectic view

When it says that God blinded them it’s not actually saying that God blinded them spiritually from being saved obviously not as many Jews had still been saved. It’s sayings that God held back from them just like when He hardened pharaohs heart Jesus died for all it will be each person’s...

Yes and as I have said before there are many tribulations and some of them are also Gods wrath but only one “the great tribulation“ the key word is “the” which sets it apart from other tribulations. The word “the” is there for a reason.
  18. Marty fox

    My personal eclectic view

Yes but even the verse you quoted mentions wrath. There is a difference between the wrath of God and the great tribulation. The wrath is on the unsaved and the great tribulation is on the saints. Stephen, Paul and the apostles are a part of the great multitude from every tribe tong and nation...

    My personal eclectic view

But Revelation 7 tells us that the great tribulation is on the saints not unbelieving Israel. The wrath of God was on unbelieving Israel Put the events of Matthew 24 along with the 6 events in revelation chapter 6 and you will see that they line up and revelation 6 states that it’s the wrath...

    My personal eclectic view

I never said the greatest tribulation I said there is only one "the great tribulation" which is greater than other great tribulations and the ones in Revelation 7 aren't raptured I believe that they are martyred saints over all time.
