Question for Premils (Amils welcome to answer): How many times are the dead judged?

I had someone described the books to me as the books containing the pages of time. Each page could be a day or moment in time, so when that page is opened, that period of time is seen or played like a movie. Put another way our future selves could be watching us right now as our current page is...

Question for Premils (Amils welcome to answer): How many times are the dead judged?

In both Daniel 7:10 and Revelation 20:12 the books are opened. In Daniel 7:10 the judgment is set and the books are opened, while in Revelation 20:12 people are judged out of what is written in the books. Are you saying these are both the same event and happened at the cross, or do you see the...

Question for Premils (Amils welcome to answer): How many times are the dead judged?

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. When do you think Daniel 12:2 takes place? If dead believers are currently reigning with Christ in His eternal kingdom, when did or will some...

Question for Premils (Amils welcome to answer): How many times are the dead judged?

I agree with you, I think most of us would agree that the dead believers are clothed in white robes and those robes were made possible by the work Christ did on the cross. If there is still one final judgment then that final judgment wouldn’t include the white robe wearing believers, right? I...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Numbers 35:4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about. I don’t know if you would agree or not but some people consider the land where the Roman armies stood to be a holy place based on...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Do you think it’s possible to prove a negative? In post #205 3R put forth the evidence of the landslide rubble layer that was deposited in the Kidron Valley during the earthquake at Christ's AD 70 return, just as Zechariah 14:4-5 in the LXX tells us would happen. What is your counter argument...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Yes, I agree. I have run across some people who claim the word “world” referred to the then known world but since China was known, which is evidenced by the Silk Road, someone making that claim would have to prove Caesar taxed China in Luke 2:1.

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

And let’s not forget this concerning Colossians 1:5-6 … The Silk Road was a well known trade route that was established well before the first century and Christ’ birth. Silk is mentioned several times in the Old Testament. No doubt the word “world” didn’t include the then known entire planet.

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

If I were to claim all coins minted before 1970 have been melted down, all you would have to do to prove me wrong would be to present a coin with a date prior to 1970. I can’t prove the negative of no coin existing with a mint mark before 1970 but you could certainly prove my claim wrong by...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

I’m not the one arguing that there is proof, but where is the archaeological evidence of human remains of a believer who died prior to 70AD? I’m not an archaeologist but I would think there would be some experts that would present some evidence if it existed. Do you know of any human remains of...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

If someone were to discover an ossuary which contained the bones of someone like Paul or one of the apostles that died before 70AD then that would be archaeological evidence that a resurrection of the believers did not occurred in 70AD.

The coming of the Lord ushers in the end

Ok, I agree, the moral law is still active and is something we should attempt to adhere to. The ceremonial law is inactive and is not something we should adhere to as it was fulfilled in Christ. Back to Matthew 5:18, are you interpreting this verse as one jot and tittle of the moral law only...

The coming of the Lord ushers in the end

Ok, very good, I agree with your post. What about animal sacrifices and the rules pertaining to that? Would you consider those rules not being part of the law? It would seem that the jot and tittle pertaining to those animal sacrifices has passed, as they were fulfilled in Christ.

The coming of the Lord ushers in the end

We know His words will never pass away, the actual words exist forever. When it says till heaven and earth pass away not one jot or tittle shall pass till all be fulfilled, it can’t be talking about the words themselves passing away. Since your position is that heaven and earth haven’t passed...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Statement A) There is no physical evidence of alien life from outer space on this planet. Statement B) There is no physical evidence of dead believers, who died before 70AD, on this planet. Tell me, would I be delusional if I didn’t believe in space aliens? Where is the archaeological...

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

I take that as a “no”, you don’t have any archaeological evidence and are relying on the assumption that Revelation was written after 70AD.

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Yes, and the Jews are meticulous about their dead. It would seem that there would be a good probability of finding some human remains of a patriarch if they existed. They knew where David’s sepulcher was in Acts 2:29.

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Well, this thread is about archaeological evidence. Do you know of any archaeological evidence that suggests there wasn’t a resurrection or coming in 70AD?

Archaeological proof of Christ's AD 70 bodily return

Thanks for taking the time to create this thread. I can’t argue against anything you said. I guess unless someone can produce reasonable evidence of human remains of a believer who died before 70AD, then, as you point out, the lack of physical human remains points us in the direction of there...

Let's exegete Hebrews 10:37 in context

Can we briefly deviate from the OP for a moment? What are some of the archaeological proofs? I had a discussion with someone and he pointed out James’ ossuary as evidence that James wasn’t bodily resurrected in 70AD, although that ossuary is suspect of being a forgery.
