How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

That statement suggests that God giving you power would open you up to temptation. Do you see anything wrong with that?

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Even the title of this thread he made is telling. How to recieve power? Maybe you can't imagine it because you want to hide from the truth.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Let me put it this way, accusing someone of blaspheming God for calling out a false sign or wonder for what it is is an excuse to walk in darkness and so is distracting from the issue by calling something bad grammar. Your second rebuttal may be a lack of reading comprehension. But you are...

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

You and I are speaking of two different things. The power of God in a believers life and lusting for your own power.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Accusations of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is a false signs and wonders decieved persons go to rebuttal. It is quite obvious what manifestations aren't of God except if someone lusts for power and decieves themselves. If you operate supernaturally and it's not of God then you could be walking...

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Gideon, a lot of what you say we need, like striving in the faith, and not being lukewarm. However, the answer is not attaining power. that is a dangerous place to go. Wanting more than things like the word, prayer, and fellowship can be a lust for things that aren't of God, like weilding power...

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

No I am not a cessationist, nor do I think that gifts of the spirit are not of God. So you've heard cessationists use words like wrong spirit. What about all the false signs and wonders that are spreading in the world like wildfire like scriptural prophecy said it would? All the false teaching...

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

If you don't have the same spirit the early Christians had then you don't have God.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

My observation has been that most people preoccupied with signs and wonders are the ones chasing it and even tapping into the wrong spirit.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Very good point. And a lot of people who chase signs and wonders are contradicting the word in the way they practice.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

I really like the content in that first paragraph. Those are the things to strive for as Christians as opposed to experiences of signs and wonders. Let's go for that. As for that second paragraph, we have the holy spirit, the same one from Pentecost, any new spirit in addition to that would be...

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

There are many things wrong with what you're saying. First of all it isn't law vs grace. God gave us law and grace to believe those two things as opposing forces is unscriptural. Recieving the spirit happens at salvation and that is your experience vs scripture.

How does one "receive" Jesus and His subsequent power?

Why do you have your mind on experience so much? Isn't the word of God the authority on how to practice Christianity? It's not like you need to experience something to know if it's of God or not because feelings are deceptive and scripture is perfect. It's not our experience vs theirs it's...

The deep danger of politicizing Christianity. It simply reveals our deep need for revival.

The left vs right wing has gotten so polarized that the only way for a born-again Christian to vote is conservative. In fact, I believe things have gotten to the degree that God will judge a Christian in some way by how they vote now.

Biden prophetic dreams - Dr - Alexis & Marlena

It's a pie in the sky fantasy. You shouldn't weigh in more heavily some random "prophecy" than the current facts. The facts are they serve satan and it doesn't look like that will change. Enough naiveity.

Biden prophetic dreams - Dr - Alexis & Marlena

I read part of it. This "prophecy" you have been talking about is different than just predicting the outcome of an election, it predicts that those who serve satan will serve god after they are elected. Wouldn't satan want you to think that so you vote for his servants? Food for thought.

No one is doubting what the Lord can do, we are doubting a sketchy looking "prophecy."

Thank You, Enoch for speaking sense into this thread.

Biden prophetic dreams - Dr - Alexis & Marlena

Sounds like a dream of deception. That book of law won't be one from God. And it is much more likely that biden/harris will remain tyrants than some obscure dream coming true anyway. Scripture says many will be decieved in the last days. These dreams seem to go right along with end times deception.
