Fine. How do we get from the atonement to justification? Are you seriously saying there's no connection? I would say it requires a progressive human response to God’s grace in order to authenticate final justification. What is the atonement if not grace? And isn't the formula grace plus faith?

And how do we get from recognizing we need that atonement to being justified?

I've been born again since 1987. I agree that Christ became sin for us. There are still aspects of how that works I don't claim to fully understand, but that's ok.

Take out the word " black" and ask the same questions. Do you really believe the same never happens when a person of another color is killed unjustly? There has to be an investigation before any one is charged, that's how the system is supposed to operate.
