If We Protestants Truly Hated Catholics...

That's not saying much if the interpreter of Scripture is the Holy Spirit. My point is that the Bible alone - and not tradition, words "ex cathedra", or Papal bulls and decretals - is what Protestants hold as unparalleled authority over ecclesiastical matters...and secular matters as well.

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

"Fascism is the regime that most closely corresponds to the concepts of the church of Rome." - Civilita Cattolica, Jesuit publication. The reason why God's greatest gift to His creatures is freedom of choice? Any child raised on VeggieTales can answer that: The young Snoodle pondered the...

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

If you can produce any official documentation bearing the Imprimatur that says Catholics can do as you say, I'd love to read it.

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

I don't think THBE meant to say that - I think he's referring to church people who teach things that Jesus never did.

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

I'm sorry, but Catholics are not taught they may approach Jesus directly without an intercessor. Protestants who believe the Bible know that it teaches we may approach the throne of grace "boldly". There's but One and only One mediator - Jesus

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

Since when can any Catholic approach Jesus without the need of an intercessor? You seem not to understand the tenants of your own faith.

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

You calling Mother Teresa a liar? She said, "No Mary, no Jesus".

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

We should voice objectionable or even provocative opinions - but to undermine other's sincere evangelistic efforts by demanding publicly that we "give up on them" implies they are "hopeless zealots" and is wrong, insulting, and not very Christlike. If I sound like a "theologist", well then...

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

ByGrace, we Protestants have a responsibility to expose the lies of Catholicism which have left millions upon millions blind to Jesus' invitation to approach Him directly, a privilege that you no doubt cherish, but to which - by your disdain for those who speak out against the doctrines of...

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

What you mistake as "fantasy" is known as "Biblical arguments". Catholics are taught not to approach Jesus directly, but that they need pray to Mary their "intercessor". She's known as the "wrath subduer", who "needs only to bear to Him the breasts that gave Him suck" in order to assuage His...

If We Protestants Truly Hated Catholics...

As Biblical Protestants who hold the authority of Scripture as paramount, unparalleled, and the sole bond of union, it is our hatred of unBiblical, blasphemous, God-dishonoring Catholic doctrines that Catholic apologists mistake as hatred of Catholics. If we Protestants truly hated Catholics...

    BABYLON SCAMYLON

No, the RCC did when she departed from the teachings of the Bible, just as the prophecies predicted. The 100 acres of Vatican city today are not what John is describing in Revelation 17 - he is describing the period between the inception of the Papacy in 538 and the "deadly wound" in 1798, when...

Help Me Understand About King and Prince Tyre In Ezekiel

Satan is personified here. No mortal man after the Flood "was in Eden, the garden of God", "walked among the stones of fire (angels)", or an of the other stuff of chapter 28.

    Why "LAW" =/= "OLD COVENANT"

So, you agree that by replacing "law" with "old covenant" in Romans 3:31, we end up with a ridiculous statement which proves that "law" was not the "old covenant", yes?
  15. Phoneman777

    Why "LAW" =/= "OLD COVENANT"

"A just man falleth seven times and riseth up again." No one is talking about those kinds of sin, for their is obviously grace for these. The sin that will send a born-again, truly converted Christian to hell is that one sin that, when the Holy Spirit shows it to him, is cherished, jealously...

Proof of genuine Christianity a believer needs to believe in = the five fundamentals

I'm the kind of person that doesn't make judgments about the eternal destination of others because I can't see into their heart. What I can do is share what the Bible says with others and hope that the Holy Spirit convicts them of the truth of it and also gives them courage, strength, and desire...

    Why "LAW" =/= "OLD COVENANT"

So, by your own words that disobedience only impacts "sanctification" and not whether you go to heaven, you're above statement is saying you can go to heaven: 1) without knowing Jesus 2) without having Jesus in you 3) without having the truth in you ...because 1 John 2:3-4 KJV says those...

Proof of genuine Christianity a believer needs to believe in = the five fundamentals

Doesn't Hebrews 12:14 say that we must pursue after "peace and holiness" to see God, as well as believe Jesus died for our sins? The idea of pursuing after something indicates continuity of something.

AN OFT OVERLOOKED LESSON FROM JACOB'S LADDER

Yes, but the wheat and tares are said will grow together. Just strive to be counted among the wheat.
