Seems to me that those things were told to the 11 Apostles. Earlier on in the passages, Jesus shows Himself first to Mary Magdeline, she told the 11 she met Jesus on the road...they did not BELIEVE her...then the two who were walking on the road when realizing the third man who joined them was...
