The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Usually, when someone drinks alcohol, the purpose is to get some kind of buzz (drunkenness). If you are not drinking to get a buzz, drink something besides alcohol.

How to debate the Bible: for beginners

Where there is no law there is no transgression; and sin is the transgression of the law. How then can there be sin where there is no law?

    What Is Love?

I wonder if that is the case. Revelation 3:4 speaks of believers who are worthy of heaven. It is an indictment on the church. Most assuredly, the doctrine that all are sinners doesn't help people to rise up out of their sinful practices and begin to live holy. Truly, all have sinned and come...

How to debate the Bible: for beginners

There was no sin before Sinai? Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4); and where there is no law there is no transgression (Romans 4:15). More accurately, sin is not imputed where there is no law (Romans 5:13).

The entire quote: The implication is that in denying priests the option of having sex with a wife; that this is the reason why their unbridled sexual desire is then directed towards children.

Eph 5:18, And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Pro 20:1, Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Pro 23:29, Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without...

There is no confusion here. No Christian needs to stumble (Jude 1:24, 2 Peter 1:10, 1 John 2:10).

No; he was specifically talking about the lack of a priest's ability to be able to procreate and raise a family... Why don't we ask him... @Truther.

GISMYS SAYS=== HARASSING MODS. THROW LITTLE TEMPER TANTRUM SCREAMING BAN HIM!!! BAN HIM!!

This message board has been pretty good about not discriminating over godly posts. I have had a few problems with one moderator; but I think that she has probably left the building.

I got banned from there a long time ago, for proving the kjv-only side of the controversy with them.

Contrasting verses, and/or surrounding context never nullify the plain meaning of what you can exegete out of any singular verse. This is a solid rule of biblical hermeneutics.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Such verses are intended to produce the fear of the LORD in man. But it is clear that the fear of the LORD will keep a man from falling away (Jeremiah 32:38-40, Psalms 19:9). And also, the following verses show clearly that once a man is truly saved, he will always be saved: Jhn 5:24, Verily...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

And yet, it seems that you have read his heart as being the opposite of the way that I have read it. At least, the way I am reading his heart, I am not being judgmental... And also, I am reading his words more than his heart. He himself is saying that sex is not the issue; but that rather it...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

The fear of the LORD endureth for ever, Psalms 19:9. I think that his reason for wanting to have been married has to do, not with sex per se, but procreation. And if one can lose one's salvation, He would stop interceding for them the moment they lose it...which He doesn't...because...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Predestination is according to foreknowledge (Romans 8:29-30, 1 Peter 1:2). What that verse (1 John 2:2) is saying is that Jesus died for everyone. Only a few actually take advantage of the free gift, however (actually receiving it). God knows ahead of time who will receive and who will not...
