    The false gospel of grace

My justification is not based on myself but on faith in, and in, the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Compare Matthew 5:20 to Galatians 2:21 and Luke 18:9-14. My righteousness does not come from law-keeping, but the righteousness of Christ is imputed to me through my taking on the humble...

    The false gospel of grace

Job was considered to be perfect by the holy scriptures....until Elihu pointed out that his sin was self-righteousness, in that he justified himself rather than the Lord.

    The false gospel of grace

No, it is not that I am justified for being ungodly...it is that I am justified for my faith in Christ in spite of any remaining ungodliness in my life. And I am also being sanctified more and more on a daily basis. As it is written, Pro 4:18, But the path of the just is as the shining light...

Yes; because of what I said here: The false gospel of grace

    The false gospel of grace

The Lord says clearly that He justifies those who believe in Him, though they be ungodly. I am not justifying myself, but am stating a belief that I am justified based in holy scripture. I would say that it is impossible for the Lord to lie; and that therefore when He declares a man righteous...

    The false gospel of grace

I have already answered the way that I have answered. If I answer yea then I am in violation of 1 John 1:8; but if I answer Nay it could be a lie. So I will answer further with the words of Job: Job 9:20, If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall...

    The false gospel of grace

If you have faith in the Lord and are known by Him (because you love Him, 1 Corinthians 8:3), then your identity in Christ is that you are righteous in Christ because of your faith...even when you blow it (Romans 4:5). So then, since your identity in Him is that you are righteous..now go and...

    The true gospel of grace.

I would say that what is written in post #4 might only apply to those who have a relationship with Christ and who are transparent before Him; who also are inclined to confess their sins to Him when fellowship is broken in order that it might be restored.

    The true gospel of grace.

It is promised that willful sin will not be forgiven, Hebrews 10:26-31. But sins that are not willful are covered by the blood even before they are committed. Rom 4:8, Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Heb 9:12, Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own...

    The false gospel of grace

Answer...God only knows. 1Co 4:4, For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

    The false gospel of grace

Heb 4:13, Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. When God looks at us, He doesn't look at us with rose-colored glasses. Righteousness is not only imputed when we believe, it is imparted...

    The false gospel of grace

1Th 5:23, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Th 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. Heb 10:10, By the which will we are sanctified through the...

    The false gospel of grace

It's kind of like when preachers teach from the pulpit that perfect doesn't mean perfect, it means 'mature' or 'complete'.

    The true gospel of grace.

Not to disparage the point of my friend who wrote a different thread exposing "the false gospel of grace"; I want to share what is the true gospel of grace in order that it might be known that grace is a thing of truth and that the gospel of grace is not in and of itself always false when it is...

Can a Christian have a demon?

Did your eyes just gloss over the references that I gave (1 John 4:4 and Mark 3:27)? I believe that Christians can be oppressed but not possessed by demons. By possession I mean habitation.

Can a Christian have a demon?

the incident you speak of was before the Cross; and before the Holy Spirit was given. It is actually, "a demon cannot operate the same space as the Holy Spirit." (not the other way around). And it is very true, see 1 John 4:4 and the principle in Mark 3:27.

Doctrine of total inability/total depravity or do we have a free will.

We are certainly not without sin; for in our flesh there dwelleth no good thing (Romans 7:18). However, we can come to a place where the element of sin is put to death within us, so that we do not commit sin any more (Romans 7:8, Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24; 1 John 3:5-9; 1 John 3:6 w/ 1 John 2:17).
