Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

Aw, thank you so much Helen you are a kind lady :). Yes, it seems I am not getting my point across very well, lol. I was not even thinking about water baptism when I wrote the OP, lol...I was baptized as an infant (Catholicism) then again in 1993 as an adult. To me is signified my confessing...

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

"they have to be both born of the world-(Through natural means, mom) along with being born in God through Jesus Christ..." Can't help it, unless someone can make better sense of this issue to me, other than the same scriptures that really have nothing to do with my post (except John 3) it...

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

"Jesus spoke to the chief Rabbi and said he had to be first born as a human (water) and then reborn as a spiritual human being with the regenerative (spirit) of God. Flesh is born of flesh, spirit is born of spirit."--Yes! That is just what I said. First Birth-womb surrounded by water. Second...

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

It has nothing to do with the New Birth! If one becomes Born AGAIN does that not mean they were already born once? - In the natural? Then the second birth is spiritual...Never said being born of a woman was being "Born again".

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

I never said that ones "natural" birth was the spiritual birth...being born again means you were first born ONCE---of water/natural/womb...then you become born of the Spirit through Jesus Christ hence-born AGAIN anew Spiritually.

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

Thank you Heb 13:8, but I still think what I wrote is definitely plausible. I also understand that "water" has several different uses in the bible. Thank you for the reply! God Bless -nancy

Born of water and Spirit...born AGAIN.

After many years of hearing, reading and believing that we MUST be water baptized to be truly saved, there has been a shift in that belief as I have prayed, studied and searched. The idea of first being born of water has me starting to look at the Nicodemus passage differently. I can't get...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Epostle1 "Does your new nature rob you of the freedom to make the wrong choices?" No sir, of course not. On the contrary, my new nature causes me to want the will of God and nothing less...the new man does not desire the old ways. And in fact, causes me/us to want to make right choices. :)

Yes, he is an awesome writer...loved Mere Christianity too...loved The Screwtape Letters. Those are the only books of his I read but, read allot about him. Did you ever see the movie Shadowlands? It's about C.S. Lewis. Anthony Hopkins plays him...very good.

Joshua 24:15 ... choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (ESV) -John 1:12: "But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he...

Please pray for my friend Sally

I have a Catholic friend who say's she is saved and, surprisingly she is only one of the few Catholics I know who really does know her bible so, we have many things in common..I steer away from Catholic vs Protestant beliefs though. I will also ask God to open Sally's eyes, if need be , to see...

Please pray for my friend Sally

I am so sorry to hear this Grams. I will pray for Sally, for strength and comfort for herself and her loved ones, that she lean on the Lord no matter the outcome. Is Sally a believer in Jesus as Lord?

AMEN to that sister! I first and foremost do not do "isms" - (unless it's Jesus-ism, lol) - but, Calvinism is a lie from the pit of hell IMO. The very doctrine that had me leave the Church back in the late 90's as I truly believed I was kindling for Hell! TULIP means what is says it is-a...

And this is how it works sometimes!

Wonderful story! I often say to Christian friends who have lost an "unsaved" person that, they do not know what God was doing in their hearts and minds as their passing was soon to be. And that their prayers for their lost/unsaved loved ones will continue to be answered so, we live in hope and...

    Mother Teresa

That's how I see it as well God's Grace. She hated publicity, never ever blew her own horn and, they (Hindu's) knew what her faith entailed. And...they SAW and EXPERIENCED Jesus hands and love through her. How in the world can ANYBODY judge someone else's motives of the heart---they cannot...
