    On How to be saved

I don't have any sons...although I think I may have the faith of Abraham to obtain some...I just don't think that my wife has the faith of Sarah...Hebrews 11:11.:p:D:cool: PS if that was a typo then I expect that you will get around to correcting it...

    On How to be saved

So we are to disregard the New Testament? Because "Covenant" is synonymous with "Testament"...therefore the New Testament lays out for us the New Covenant...which is for Gentiles as well as Jews...Ephesians 3:6.

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

post #445 (Believers stay righteous through their obedience) (the latter end of which I responded to in post #447 (Believers stay righteous through their obedience)) doesn't appear to be addressed to anyone that is specified in the post (#445)...which is the reason why I asked if it was to me.

    On How to be saved

No, that is bad terminology. The word for it is sanctified wholly (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (kjv)).

How Free Will Destroys the Gospel

    debate...Romans 1:29 (kjv), 2 Corinthians 12:20-21 (kjv).

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

You talking to me? I didn't pay one red cent for the free gift that was given to me. However, the gift given was righteousness (Romans 5:17); which, as it turns out, is a practical thing (1 John 3:7).

Baptism is for the remission of sins.

    Questions by Many

We ought to let the blind be leaders of the blind.

    On How to be saved

None of that changes any of what I said in post #74 (On How to be saved). Were any of those who received the Holy Ghost through the laying on of the apostles' hands unbaptized?

    Questions by Many

I believe that @Harvest 1874 is a JW if I'm not mistaken; and therefore his posts warrant the treatment that we are exhorted towards in Romans 16:17.

How Free Will Destroys the Gospel

So people who lived in Old Testament times won't be in heaven? We are born again of the Holy Spirit; not of blood (John 1:13).

    On How to be saved

In the days of the New Testament church, baptism was the initiation into the faith of Christianity; and therefore, if you told them that getting baptized was the result of heresy (and that they wouldn't end up being saved because of it) because they weren't trusting in the finished work of...

    On How to be saved

The Holy Ghost is absolutely promised as a conditional promise in Acts of the Apostles 2:38-39. It is the washing away of sins, however, Acts of the Apostles 22:16. It depends on what they mean by baptism. It is normally defined by those who say that it saves as an act of faith in...

How Free Will Destroys the Gospel

Hitler walked in darkness in spite of the light that was given to him. It hails form the Old Testament, and is the OT foundation with Paul of New Testament belief about justification by faith. Abraham's seed, In Galatians, is those who are in Christ through faith in Christ. I say "is"...

    On How to be saved

Through faith of the operation of God (Colossians 2:11-12). See also 1 Peter 3:20-21. The latter part of the first verse indicates water baptism is what is being spoken of; the second verse indicates that baptism doth also now save us. I'm not certain why people are convinced that it is sound...

    On How to be saved

If you hold that these passages (the latter end of Mark 16, the first part of John 8, the latter half of Romans 8:1, Jesus' words in Luke 9:55-56, 1 John 5:7, etc.) are not a part of inspired scripture, beware lest you be judged as having taken away from the word of the Lord; and your part will...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

2 Corinthians 5:17 speaks of the nature of those who are truly in Christ (born again). When Peter said that they believed and were sure that Jesus was the Christ, I don't think he was speaking for Judas: Jesus was correcting Peter in the next verse. So yes, I suppose that there are many who...

You talking to me? No; I did not suggest, nor am I suggesting, that in the slightest.

    On How to be saved

Sanctification can be completed in this life (i.e. to be sanctified wholly). 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (kjv), Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 10:14, 1 John 3:9 (kjv), 2 Peter 1:10 (kjv), 1 John 2:10, Jude 1:24 (kjv), Titus 2:14, Matthew 1:21, etc.
