Believers stay righteous through their obedience

So you are saying that there will always be non-Christian, unbelievers, on any Christian forum?

    On How to be saved

Yes, Christianity is about Christ, and not about either me or you... Salvation is by grace through faith; it is a free gift. He did it all! Righteousness (1 John 3:7, Philippians 3:9, 2 Corinthians 5:7) is not earned but given (Romans 5:17). You do something to one of the least of these His...

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Of course; I was merely going by the text that was at hand. btw, when Cornelius and friends were converted, it was a special circumstance because God had to go to some drastic measures in order for the circumcision group to accept Gentiles into the body of Christ...God proved that Gentiles...

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

Actually, turning from their sins would have happened before they got all wet. In this order: 1) preaching 2) repentance 3) belief 4) baptism in Jesus' name 5) remission of sins 6) the gift of the Holy Ghost 7) living a holy life. #2 and #3 may happen in the reverse order.

    On How to be saved

Romans 4:6 is a key verse concerning justification. Sanctification comes in our response to having been forgiven (having been forgiven much, we love Jesus much; and therefore obey Him). And while I do not consider myself to have apprehended this, I do believe that to be sanctified wholly is...

    On How to be saved

@mjrhealth I am blessed that you question whether I have the spirit of wisdom and understanding. It should be evident to all who read my posts that I do indeed have that spirit. However, because it is an attempt to discredit my ministry on these boards and therefore falls under the definition...

    On How to be saved

Some of what I have posted here was an attempt to draw out a response from @TruthBeliever, perhaps because of a misunderstanding of Proverbs 20:5.

How Free Will Destroys the Gospel

Moses was saved the same way Abraham was in Genesis 15:6.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

And what I am saying is that I have understanding of what the scripture says (because Psalms 1:2-3 is characteristic of my life); and therefore for the most part I will merely reference a scripture and sometimes I will give the understanding, as did Ezra in Nehemiah 8:8.

For those who don't believe in prophets today....explain this

No contradiction: they became believers (i.e. they converted) when they submitted to baptism in Jesus' name.

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

    On How to be saved

Consider Acts of the Apostles 13:48 however. There is no mention of the people who were then saved being baptized in the book of Acts.

    On How to be saved

Of course, Acts of the Apostles 2:39 plus Romans 8:30 creates an airtight case for the necessity of Acts of the Apostles 2:38 baptism in my view.

    On How to be saved

When did the converts of Rome get baptized? Paul wrote the letter to them long before he actually went there and lived among them.

    On How to be saved

While I haven't taken chances on this myself, and also don't recommend that anyone else take chances either... In John 3:5, the water being spoken of there can be interpreted by Ephesians 5:26. Or, it could be interpreted by John 4:13-14 and John 7:37-39 since the Greek word for and in John...
