    QUOTE for the day

I don't know if it's a quote. But I'm gonna post it anyways because it makes me feel better.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

We could always ask the local shaman. :hmhehm

    I hate modernity

Yeah. It seems like several of thee founding fathers of America were deists. I'd be cool with that. But I don't think the Christians would ever agree.

Let's suppose that doesn't happen. Then humanity is left with the prospect of dehydration, starvation, violence, and radiation sickness. Besides, I don't think using nuclear weapons automatically triggers the return of Jesus. We dropped two on Japan and the world kept right on going.

    I hate modernity

If it does, I hope I'm not around for what comes next.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

I don't think so. John Lennox is a very intelligent Christian.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

It does say the "four corners of the earth", at least implying the earth is flat. :confused

I'll take it under advisement. :contemplate:

    I hate modernity

Very. But I'm not sure any kind of authority can fix the mess that is our culture.

How can one love God when one has never actually met God? Christians talk about it being a relationship. But how can you love someone you never see or hear from? The relationship sounds very one sided to me.

    I hate modernity

This is going to sound insulting, but that isn't my intention. Because... It's silly. It just is. Talking animals. Talking bushes. A guy living inside of a fish for three days. A guy building a large boat and gathering all the animals. It just goes on and on. By the time we get to Jesus, we're...

@Matthias the demoralization. That's certainly what it feels like. I began to really notice it a little over ten years ago. The noticeable decline in things, usually entertainment, being produced in the West. I'll post a couple examples. These videos are 30 years apart. I think it demonstrates...

Folklore. Old stories that are embellished for effect. Think of Greek mythology. The gods of Olympus were once considered real. They were even worshipped. But now we are fairly certain that this is all part of Greek mythology. But we've learned a lot in 2,000 years. I agree. I doubt they all...

    I hate modernity

A being that holds power beyond imagining. Given his lack of appearances in modern times, at least compared to the time of Moses, I'm inclined to believe he has either given up on his creation, or was never involved beyond being a prime mover. I think that's an accurate definition.

How could he? The Bible wasn't written when Christ walked the earth. Yes, in the sense that I believe the universe couldn't have come into it's existence on it's own. In that sense, I did believe in a singular supernatural event. I find it very difficult to believe in what is written in the...

    I hate modernity

I agree with that. The bible itself. I just can't bring myself to believe in many of the stories the require a belief in the supernatural.
