    I hate modernity

I looked into Flew. He didn't become a Christian near the end of his life. He became a deist. It's not much of a stretch to go from atheist to deist given that science can't explain where life came from, or even the universe itself. When I look at the majesty of the cosmos, I too, become a...

    I hate modernity

I just can't stand it any longer. I'm tired of seeing mediocrity praised and rewarded and treated like it's just as good as what came before when it isn't. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that western civilization is in decline. In many ways, it mirrors Rome's decline. It doesn't...

CCP Proves ‘Climate’ Fight Not Really About Climate (Part 1)

China isn't concerned because their only concern is expanding their influence.

    Ozzy Osbourne passed away today

Hulk Hogan's cause of death was confirmed to be a heart attack. He was also battling leukemia. "Hulk Hogan's Cause of Death Revealed Hogan, born Terrence Gene Bollea, died of an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, the New York Post firstreported. Medical...

Does God know why he exists?

Not really. I'd prefer to ask a butt load of questions. o_O

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

In some ways, sure. We don't actually know what a t-rex looks like. We have to make an educated guess. That's just one example. The thing is, science deals with the natural world. It's easier for me to believe in something when there is at least some evidence for it. But Christianity makes...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

I love dinosaurs. They're one of my passions. I was really into Cryptozoology as a kid, too. If you enjoy Paleontology, then why do you dismiss evolution? I was shocked at the time. Their reasoning was something like, if it wasn't mentioned in Genesis, then it wasn't there. When I asked them...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

On the origin of life, perhaps. But the fossil record contradicts the idea that there was only ever modern humans. You'd probably be surprised at the number of Christians I've spoken to over the years that genuinely believe the dinosaurs never existed, despite the overwhelming evidence to the...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Well, Homo erectus went extinct. We didn't evolve from them. They were just another line of ancient ancestors that existed before us. We lived alongside Neanderthals, another humanoid species that eventually went extinct. Modern humans have been around for roughly 300,000 years. If I read...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

There are many, but Homo erectus is probably one of the better known human ancestors that is now extinct.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Correct. It would be another primate. We don't know where it came from. Science currently can't say where life originated from, nor why. That's why evolution is not in conflict with the idea of God being a prime mover. It's entirely possible that God was responsible for everything.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

A common ancestor. We didn't evolve from monkeys though. That's a common misconception. "Humans and monkeys are both primates. But humans are not descended from monkeys or any other primate living today. We do share a common ape ancestor with chimpanzees. It lived between 8 and 6 million years...

Because I think the evidence is solid. I never said it did.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

The bible is full of claims. But claims are not proof of anything. I'm not sure what you're asking.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

I'm curious, why don't you apply the same level of skepticism you have for evolution to the stories you read about in the bible?
