Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: The "rapture" is depicted in Revelation 14:14-16, where Jesus has descended to a cloud. The Greek word there is αρπαγησομεθα = ("we will be caught up"). This is mid-tribulation, prior to the "Great tribulation" (wrath of God). See also John 14:2-3, 1Corinthians 15:51-53, 1Thessalonians...

    Revelation chapter 11 questions

Jay Ross said: <Satan is still able to enter heaven> <around the year 2045 Satan is judged> IMO: Satan is permitted occasional visits to heaven, as noted in Job 1:6-7, Revelation 12:7-9).

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

The Bible indicates a 1000-year reign of the Messiah from Jerusalem. It is mentioned in Zechariah 14 and Revelation 20. "Millennium" stems from Latin: (mille = thousand) + (annus = year).

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

radikal21 explained: <before the destruction of the temple> "Preterism" is the view that Biblical prophesies are all history. Makes no sense to me.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: o. "Dispense" stems from Latin dispensare = "to administer a task." o. Currently the task is to maintain order in the Middle East. o. Six nations were ordained to do this: .....Egypt .....Assyria .....Babylon .....Persia .....Greece .....Rome o. Jesus came during the Roman empire, but...

    Revelation chapter 11 questions

Davidpt noted: <you must not be reading the same texts.> Same texts, different understanding. This is apocalyptic literature, and IMO it must be interpreted as such.

    Revelation chapter 11 questions

Davidpt noted: <These locusts do not wreak havoc on God's chosen people> IMO: These "locusts" (IMO actually fallen angels) descend upon Israel, where Christianity arose. The first Christians were Jewish. The Jews are God's chosen people. Gentiles were admitted to the faith only after careful...

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

Microchips are used on pets for identification. They work on people too.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: "Dispensation" stems from Latin dispensare = "to administer," i.e. "to manage." After the fall of man there were six nations ordained to manage order in the Middle East: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome. That is six administrations. The seventh administration is the...

    Revelation chapter 11 questions

God's chosen people are the Jews, and unfortunately many of them reject Christianity. Locust swarms destroy crops, which is very damaging to agrarian societies. Of course these are not true locusts, rather IMO they are Satan's angels ("demons") attacking people, as in Job 2:7-10. See also...

(The Beast) & (The Two Witnesses) Will Be On This Earth Together For 3.5 Years (Then Cometh The End)

IMO: The seven Jewish holidays reflect seven acts of the Messiah: 1. Passover "slain as a lamb" (Isaiah 53:7) 2. Unleavened bread "he had done no violence" (Isaiah 53:9) 3. First Fruits "first fruits from the grave" (Psalm 16:10) 4. Pentecost "sends the spirit" (Joel 2:26) 5. Trumpets...

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

The mark is "on the hand or forehead" (Revelation 13:16).

    The Beast Revelation

IMO: Christian scholars have differing understanding of Biblical prophecy: 1. Idealism They are made-up stories, not to be understood literally. 2. Historicism It's church history. 3. Preterism The events have already occurred. 4. Futurism The events in Revelation 4-22 are yet future. My...

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

Rapture!!! For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, with a cry of command, with the voice of an angel, with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in...

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

"Temple" is a place to commune with God. In that sense I agree that the body is the temple of God. But so is the Jewish temple, that God ordained. Adam and Eve communed with God, and the Bible indicates that will be restored in the new heavens and earth.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

The mark is said to be on the hand or forehead. I see nothing about angels in the text. Pets sometimes have "microchips" implanted, to identify them if lost.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO the "mark" is perhaps a microprocessor chip, like the one on your credit card. Welcome to the electronic age.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: The Temple is a proxy for the Presence of God, like a home. 1 Kings 8:10-11 depicts the glory of God descending upon the first temple.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: "Mark of the beast" (on the hand or forehead) is indicated in Revelation 13:16-18, 14:9. It"s an identifier. Someone who does not have it is not allowed to buy or sell.

Who is Paul discussing in 2 Thessalonians 2?

IMO: o. "Anti" in "Anti-Christ" = "false" i.e. "false Christ." o. He is a charismatic person, probably Middle-Eastern o. He will achieve a peace treaty in the Middle East (amazing!). o. He will oversee construction of the Jewish temple. o. He will then take his seat in the temple proclaiming...
