World Cup - anyone watching the matches

The obsession with balls is beyond me. Big balls, little balls, soft balls, hard balls, round balls, oval balls......it's gotta be a distraction.

    Abstinence/Waiting/Lust/Sin

I guess many Israelites concluded it was crazy when Moses set up the brass serpent and bid the people look at it for healing. Perhaps it was those who deemed themselves smart and refused to look, instead reaching for whatever they figured was a remedy, that found themselves dead?

    Tolerance is sin

Tolerance is sin In that case God must be extremely sinful. He has put up with more than we can imagine.

    Abstinence/Waiting/Lust/Sin

The do, do, do list goes on and on and on I think you need to add to the list to fill the bucket!.....Ohhhh, it's never full?....never healed? Could it be that the 'Israelites' insist on the medical kit in preference to looking at what Moses had erected and bid them to look?

What a trip down memory lane. I have ridden roads like this and had similar experiences in Bolivia and Peru. Ahhhh, maybe another adventure is stirring!

    Abstinence/Waiting/Lust/Sin

Look not to your sin nor to your pride in overcoming but look to Jesus; he has forgiven you, he will strengthen you, he will give you good judgement. Just like the Hebrews in the desert bitten by snakes; their healing came from looking outside themselves to the brass serpent Moses erected, a...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

God's Kingdom is present now and one can only enter it when one sees it. It is Jesus' objective to open all eyes....yet ones eyes will only open when there is a willingness to see.....sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. John 7:17 'If anyone wants to do his will, he will know whether the...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

Giving up ones life to find eternal life becomes proportionate to HOW you understand/ believe the good news. Embracing God's gift as would a trusting child, opens the Kingdom of God and giving up your life for it is its natural consequence. Believing or creating all sorts of hoops to jump...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

As we know, the context of any matter is critical. From your quote of Jesus above from John 11 it appears at first glance that when Jesus says in vs 25, 'the one who believes in me will live, even though they die.....', it could easily be understood that when those who believe die that they go...

Trump says DSA taking over democratic party are godless hardcore communists, and he is correct

Trump says DSA taking over democratic party are godless hardcore communists, and he is correct Here we go, lumping people into categories is a cheap and easy way to influence the unthinking and ignorant. Is every Communist godless or hardcore (what ever hardcore is meant to mean) and is...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

We (all of us as people) drag what God says through our paradigms. Not only what God says but also what we say to each other. The game of Chinese whispers illustrates this. Consider Elijah at the cave as an example of sorts. God was not in the wind that broke the rocks nor was he in the raging...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

They has heard it from the OT writings. Check the references. Jesus was expanding their understanding. He was using his authority over that of the scriptures they used. This was also illustrated in him not condemning the woman brought to him who was caught in adultery.

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

Firstly Anchorite, applying labels in an attempt to nullify my statements doesn't wash. It only reveals a concealed desperation. When you insist on the OT writings being inerrant you will need to explain why Jesus made statements like. 'You have heard it said but I say unto you......'...

Is our soul immortal or mortal?

Inspiration does not mean the inerrancy of the inspired. Just use your own experience as an example; for certain you have been inspired by God at times but does that mean everything you say is inerrant? Of course not.
