Why doesn't your "whole Bible view" include Universalism?

haha Hidden, of course nobody except you has such highly developed morality. :Broadly:

The bible contains what percentage of 'ALL SCRIPTURE'? 2 Timothy 3:16

When Jesus said, '...if they have kept my words, they will keep yours' John 15:20, who do you think he was talking about Jack?

    What makes a doctrine false?

You know Hidden, I would gladly explain what you think I don't understand re Isaiah 53 however past experience with your approach has taught me not to waste my time and effort. The scripture would describe it as not throwing your pearls to swine because they will trample them underfoot then turn...

    What makes a doctrine false?

Isn't it odd Hidden that when I read your explanations I conclude you don't understand what you are talking about....even Acts 2:23 which you quote so confidently has evaded your understanding. As far as the penal substitution idea, your language sings its tune. It reminds me of Jesus as he...

    What makes a doctrine false?

You say 'that is a relief' not understanding what is meant. You speak and maintain distortions generating accusations just like Jack. My guess is you do it because you are unable to countenance a generosity displayed by God. A generosity which cuts clean across the penal substitution theories...

    What makes a doctrine false?

I doubt it. In fact what you label 'the word of God' are in fact your own deductions.

    A Challenge

I guess you have fed the hungry, given the thirsty to drink, taken in strangers, clothed the naked and visited the sick in prison!

    What makes a doctrine false?

?? what are you talking about? Now I understand where you are coming from!

@David in NJ Do you really think Jesus was referencing Moses and the Prophets writing for a theology on hell? If so, I have never read anything remotely familiar.

...a convenient deflection for you David to avoid looking closer at the Lazarus story, ie to take the 'punch line' into serious consideration.

    What makes a doctrine false?

...and so you sidestep and generate doubt; drawing into question the Saviour. Why do you do this Hidden? Is it because you don't recognise my language ie, it has no resonance with you?

    A Challenge

I guess the word 'destroy' to you means not destroy but rather being cognisant of torment forever. I guess it also means that the punch line of the Lazarus story you quoted needs ignoring and an ever burning hell theology made out of a story meant to illustrate something entirely different.

    What makes a doctrine false?

You make my precise point Hidden with your many words and rambling. I'm persuaded that 'coming to Jesus' is exempt from all this hoopla.

    What makes a doctrine false?

I would like to further comment on the underlined above, 'but you are not willing to come to me...' 'Coming to Jesus', what could this possibly mean? Does it mean having lengthy and convoluted theological yada yada or interest? Does it mean engaging a personal selection of rituals? Does it mean...

    What makes a doctrine false?

What makes a doctrine false? 'false,' in my view, is when the point (the pivot) of why the scriptures are recorded/ written is sidelined, minimised, misrepresented, distorted. 'What is the point' is the inevitable question. This is what comes to mind for me... John 5:39 'You search the...

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

What do you make of Revelation 11:8.....how are we to understand it? Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

    People in Hell are happy

Did you look up Zechariah 3?

    People in Hell are happy

Had you considered that accusing is the signature of the evil one, Jack? ....and are you familiar with Zechariah 3?

Imagine the frustration Jesus experienced when the view of those who knew they 'knew' was impassable.

Could it be that the assumptions we have made about what happens to us when we die could be in error?
