Hypocrisy! Sometimes I want the time to pass quickly, other times slowly, but I always want to be myself! Pray that I get my head straight! (love?)

Only believe, GS, and you can live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Everything God has said, He will bring to pass, in His appointed time. The working out of the will of God in our lives is directly commensurate with the enthusiasm with which we believe. The story is told...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Which way did the goal posts go? .

Yeah, textual issues are keeping the Gospel from reaching millions. .

Oh, you've got him now. I always say, the only thing worse than a King James warrior is a King James hater - lol. I can't believe this show is free. .

Who could've predicted you'd respond to every paragraph but this one: After all, drawing any attention to it would have spoiled your straw man posturing. I really like the Calvinism red herring, too—nice touch. FWIW, I do fully concur with your comments about "originals." Unfortunately, I...

Is this teaching method very effective for you? And we're off to the the Eternal Security races. The topic is about the Bible as an idol. The truth is, however, that no one idolizes the Bible—only their cherished opinions of what it says. :) .

Ascribing motive makes me ill. I don't see how Christians can do it, honestly. I can't say I'm guiltless, either, but: "Man looks on the outward appearance..." .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

I think you missed the point. Folks who resist the Holy Spirit can't see that they're attempting righteousness by works. In fact, for nearly all of us, it's not a matter of whether we have legalistic tendencies, but to what degree, in what manner, and what we're trying to do about it. .

But I have to keep my perception of omnipresence from crossing over into pantheism, Sis. I don't think I can presume safety without caution here. .

I'm not getting a clear picture of your point or position. No one is claiming that the Bible hung on a cross and died for the sins of the world. God Himself chose the word "Word" to refer to both the written word and the Word made flesh. I had nothing to do with that. To insist that Jesus is...

@St. SteVen, I hope you understood that the word "attitude" in post #1044 was actually supposed to be "latitude" - lol. :) .

Chronology? I don't really understand the point of arguing technicality here. I'm just not looking for reasons to doubt Scripture. Maybe that makes me naive. Why couldn't Psalm 138:2 apply to the New Testament as well, especially considering passages like 2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is...

You don't think he saw the words of Moses as carrying more weight than others? .

I just don't know of anyone who claims to believe that Jesus and the Bible are exactly the same thing, or that they love the Bible more than Jesus. Maybe you do. .

Sorry, my mistake. I thought we were talking about that in the abstract sense, rather than outright idolatry. .

Forgive me but this just comes across as equivocation, and seems definitely to be at variance with the distinction made between the word and the name of God in Psalm 138:2. .
