There is only one true church

I guess I’m not really sure why you even brought up 2 Tim. 3:16 in the first place. The debate it about whether Paul was placing Oral Tradition on the same place as that which is written (Scripture). They BOTH amount to the Word of God. One is spoken – the other is written.

There is only one true church

You’re changing the argument. Your initial argument was that nobody is to receive the Eucharist EXCEPT for the 144,000 – a claim that Scripture NEVER makes.
  3. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

And where does Jesus tell the Apostles that NOBODY else can receive the Eucharist except fpr them and the 144,000 from Rev. 7??

There is only one true church

You're just angry that I exposed you. Again - From YOUR post #827: “2 Tim. 3:16, where Paul DOES mention graphē (= Scripture).” From YOUR post #847: “The ONLY thing I have been concerned with here -- and the thing you just can't seem to focus on, no matter how hard I try to focus you -- is the...

There is only one true church

Yup. Now, show me where ANY verse says that ONLY a select few can receive the Eucharist. – and I’ll show you where it is recommended for ALL . . .

There is only one true church

Like I said before – you’re either a really BAD communicatory – or you’re just NOT that bright. “Graphé” NEVER appears in 2 Thess. 2:15. I don’t even know why you brought it up in the first place. Bottom line here: The Holy Spirit speaking through Paul’s pe declared that the Oral Tradition...
  7. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

And you have YET to show a SUNGLE verse that “forbid” the Eucharist to ANY member of the Body of Christ.

There is only one true church

From YOUR post #827: “2 Tim. 3:16, where Paul DOES mention graphē (= Scripture).” From YOUR post #847: “The ONLY thing I have been concerned with here -- and the thing you just can't seem to focus on, no matter how hard I try to focus you -- is the meaning of "graphe" in 2 Tim. 3:16. “ I...

There is only one true church

WRONG. Luke 22:29-30 is about a promise Jesus makes to His Apostles – His inner circle. This pertains t TJEM. The Eucharist as a sacrament is NOT for an exclusive few but for ALL who follow and obey Christ. John 6:53-57 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of...

There is only one true church

Either you’re a really BAD communicator – or you’re just NOT that bright. It is YOU who keeps stating that Paul used the word, “graphé” in 2 Thess. 2:15. As I have more than amply educated you – he did NOT. He used the word, επιστολε (ep-is-tol-ay'), which means “a letter”. EVERY time you say...

There is only one true church

Yup. He is the author of ALL Scripture.
  12. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

That’s not completely accurate (John 7:24, John 20:21-23). What He didn’t give was the Authority to condemn. I’ve shown you where Jesus said that anyone who listened to or rejected His Church listened to or rejected HIM (Luke 10:16). And while we’re on the subject of Authority – the Bible...

There is only one true church

For the LAST time: The HOLY SPIRIT is the Author of Scripture – NOT Paul. Just because YOU didn’t hear Paul agree with Peter doesn’t mean that he DIDN’TT. The Holy Spirit does NOT contradict Himself. He means what He says – and He says what He means. As for “Graphe” in 2 Thess 2:15 – it’s NOT...
  14. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

You have perverted God’s Word. Jesus isn’t setting a “limit” as to which followers get to receive the Eucharist in Luke 22:29-30. He is telling His Apostles – His inner circle of what awaits THEM in Heaven as leaders of His Church. He is talking about a hierarchy. That’s why we read in...
  15. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

First of all – the word Paul uses in 2 Thess. 2:15 is επιστολε (ep-is-tol-ay'), which means “a letter”. Secondly – the reason I brought up 2 Pet. 3:16 is because you cannot simply cherry-pick the Scriptures and post verses out of context to make a point. ALL Scripture must be read IN CONTEXT...
  16. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

The Sabbath is NOT part of the Moral Law – no matter how much YOU try to make it. That would be like saying that the Commandment against adultery is a ceremonial Law. Show me a SINGLE verse to let NO man judge you in matters of adultery or theft or murder - as Col. 2:16-17 does about the...

There is only one true church

WRONG. Pau is specifically referring to the sinful behavior (drunkenness, etc.) of some of the congregants. That’s why he says that they need to examine themselves before receiving the Lord’s Supper: 1 Cor. 11:28 EVERYONE ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from...
  18. BreadOfLife

There is only one true church

They were no longer bound to the ceremonial aspects of the law. There were lawss pertaining to morals, which are timeless. There were laws pertaining to cleanliness, laws pertaining to ceremony which are NOT binding on Christians. The Church never “abandoned” the Sabbath. It merely recognized...

There is only one true church

Paul was talking about those who are not worthy of receiving the Lord in the Eucharist because of their sins. 1 Cor. 11:27-29 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. EVERYONE ought to...

There is only one true church

You are one of the most dishonest people I’ve debated on this forum. I already cleared this up in my last post. Paul doesn’t mention “Scripture” - and he wasn’t talking about the OT. He emphatically says, “Letter of OURS”. Their Letters, having been inspired by the Hoy Spirit, are what became...
