Is God Magnanimous? - (as opposed to tyrannical)

Unfortunately, yes, I agree. Trying to be more "righteous-seeming" than God Himself was Lucifer's mistake and proceeds from pride and self-righteousness. It is also a back-handed accusation against the Lord, implying that He is not righteous when He judges or when He gives us boundaries.

Is God Magnanimous? - (as opposed to tyrannical)

God gives man freedom to exercise his will. That is the opposite of tyrannical. Did you read what I said about "natural" consequences of sin? AKA curses as opposed to blessing. Do we still see curses operating today in individuals, families, cities and nations? Does that make God...

Is God Magnanimous? - (as opposed to tyrannical)

Does the bible say He is "magnanimous" somewhere or are you just making up your own feel-good doctrine like so many do? Of course anyone is free to make up their own religion if they want to, but man-made religions cannot save anyone's soul. And even if it does say somewhere that God is...

Demographic collapse. Capitalism Dies of Childlessness

It was not by anyone's "authority"....it was due to the love of God shed abroad in their hearts via the Holy Spirit. They went from "house to house" when they gathered to meet with the Lord, so doesn't sound as though they were living in a commune.

Demographic collapse. Capitalism Dies of Childlessness

The early church did not live in a commune.......they willingly shared what they had so that nobody had any lack and neither did anybody have any surplus left over. Because of the Holy Spirit, moving mightily in them and among them, not because it was imposed upon them by laws........"great...

Demographic collapse. Capitalism Dies of Childlessness

I don't know how the whole conversation is going on this thread but just to say in general.....this world is lost and sinful and lies under God's wrath...we should not be surprised at this since it is all over God's word...He has not kept it a secret. And He is the one who raises and lowers...

But should believers SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE, or to condemn? And don't forget that love covers a multitude of sins, as Jesus covered the sins of those who know and believe in Him. He came not to condemn but to save......we are His followers, no?

    Christians who hate Israel

I was just reading in Genesis 37 and 49 this morning about Judah, as Jacob prophesied over his sons concerning the "last days".....how the rulership/kingship/scepter was given to Judah instead of to Jacob's first born Reuben. Jesus (Shiloh) being born of the line of Judah......with short...

    Christians who hate Israel

Amen. Jesus is a spiritual high priest, not an earthly one (He became a quickening spirit)......because it's a new law of love in which we serve in the new way of the spirit now, no longer the old way of the letter. He entered into the heavenly/spiritual tabernacle of which the earthly one...

Rom 11:17-25 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt...

They were broken off their tree to make room, so to speak, for Gentiles. In the end of this age it seems Gentile branches are being broken off in the falling away...could this be to make room for more Jewish branches? And remember that t is by our mercy that they may find God's mercy in...

Amen. "A change of the Law required a change of the priesthood"....no longer of Levi, but our High Priest is from the line of Judah.

    Christians who hate Israel

Yes, he disobeyed God and yet he was also a figure for Christ. There is more than one layer to things that are written I believe, more than one lesson. That is why IF Adam was with Eve, I believe it could be a clue as to a tendency of the man. Think I glimpsed this a long time ago, but I have...

Why did Paul say that Adam was not "in the transgression" though? Even though he clearly transgressed. There is some distinction to be made I think, other than that he wasn't deceived.

Amen. yes. Job was righteous to harken to God over his wife. However, I don't want us to forget that there are plenty of examples in the bible of women who were faithful to God. In the kingdom of God there is neither male nor female.........spiritual women are not deceivers or luring men to...

ok, maybe. I'm not sure it is conclusive though. I agree that the serpent spoke to Eve, not to Adam and that she was deceived, not he. Wasn't trying to say otherwise.

Women are for sure more easily deceived generally, and I dont' agree with having women pastors/ leaders in the church. I don't know how to understand what it says about Adam not being in the transgression because he wasn't deceived. Did he transgress or not? Or as a prefigure for Christ, did...

    Christians who hate Israel

No, I think we're getting our wires crossed.....it's hard hashing things out in writing. I'm talking about a little girl being a little girl...eg, pirouetting in front of her father to show off her new dress, or just being cute, coming to him for a hug and engaging him in conversation, wanting...

Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Just mentioned it because I have wondered about...
