The inward signs of a true believer in God

I'm not done reading your post, but I can at least so far respond to this. John 15:2 Every branch IN Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes

The inward signs of a true believer in God

We see in Revelation 22:11 there are two stages in our walk. Righteousness and Holiness. Hebrews 12 starts out telling us that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith, not us. 1 John 3 shows us how we become righteous, also known as sinless. That is on day one of being a true Spirit...

The inward signs of a true believer in God

1 John 1:9 being the same repentance as Acts 2:38 is to receive the Holy Spirit, the power of God. This first repentance after believing in Christ is how to become a Christian. There are two types of sin: sins unto death (breaking one of the royal moral laws, commandments 5-10), and sins NOT...

    Your favorite Psalm?

These are two psalms that were rhemas to me. The first God used four times in my life, and the last was used when I became born again. Psalms 37 and 51

The inward signs of a true believer in God

Hi old friend :) I would just like to add a word about repentance. I've heard the definition of repentance as us turning away from sin. But there is nothing in us to empower us from not turning back to that sin. Thus the interpretation of 1 John 1:9 as almost a get out of jail card for every...

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

It gives us the example of "coveting," the 10th commandment. So, again, we are free from the Mosaic Law, which includes the letter of the law regarding keeping one day a week resting. Romans 7:5-8 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in...

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

The verses you are quoting were from his past before Jesus. You forget Romans 7:5-6 that tells us that we are free from the Mosaic Law, the Ten Commandments. Those were the Old Covenant. Every covenant has a sign of that covenant. The Old Covenant of Ex. 34:28 was the Ten Commandments, and its...

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

Romans 7:5-6 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in...

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

You do remember that Paul used to be a Pharisee? That is when he was under the Law and also trapped in sin. Paul was freed from both. Romans 8:2 The New Covenant doesn't give us a law about any day, as that would be of the letter. Along with the Ten Commandments written on stone, we are freed...

Right, favoritism is a lack of love.

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

The whole Bible is written to Christians, but not always ABOUT Christians. :) For instance I've heard the same argument about 1 John 1:8 that is about Gnostics! o_O Paul wrote Romans 7:5-7 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our...

Tree of Life: A Soup Nazi Commentary on Revelation 22:14 KJV

Yes I'm sure about that. You can miss it if you are not familiar with the New Covenant of Liberty. Verse 12 states the comparison of the Old Covenant of the ministry of death, verses 2:1-11 to a follower of Christ and His easy yoke of the New Covenant, the ministry of the Holy Spirit James 2:12...

    Favourite Church Father?

This is why we must have the faith of a child, so I never doubt what people claim, even though I may not see it for myself. For instance, I never saw gold dust when that was happening in some churches, but I never doubted it was from God as He has made the streets of heaven out of gold. Come to...

    Favourite Church Father?

Jesus made it easy to abide in Him, because He also abides in us. As long as you keep abiding in Jesus, He will prune your fruit, and one day you'll be shocked at how much you've conformed to His image. Romans 8:29. We also have his divine power and the gifts of the Spirit. A few months ago in...

    Favourite Church Father?

Now that I've heard about. But you can't deny he had extreme faith. He brought his wife back to life so many times, even out of her coffin that she had to tell him to stop. She wanted to stay in heaven.

    Never heard that one.

    Favourite Church Father?

Sorry Pearl but that is a man-made doctrine that is not about Jesus and the power of the gospel. The Father is not blinded by the blood of Jesus. Jesus blood does not cover our sins, it TAKES AWAY our sin out of our very nature called the old man. Romans 6:5-7.

    Favourite Church Father?

Randy, It would be wrong to preach immediate perfection, but Jesus takes away our lawless sin from our nature immediately, making us both righteous and sinless of sins unto death, giving us eternal life. What is left are "sins not unto death." IOW immature fruit of the Spirit. 2 Peter 1:5-11...

    Favourite Church Father?

Do you believe we can be sinless in this lifetime? Or do you believe that we can't be sinless until we receive our new bodies?

He is the "father" of the Methodist church denomination.
