Can Someone Please Define What a Christian is?

[Act 11:26 NASB95] 26 and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. [Act 26:28 NASB95] 28 Agrippa [replied] to Paul, "In a short time you will...

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to...

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception ! It is not a MYTH. Some people really say it. I have heard them with my own ears! (Sorry, I couldn't resist. After 140 pages and 2700+ posts of "Limited" vs "Unlimited" atonement, the topic HAD to need a little humor.)...

Who Falls From Grace & Who Falls Short Of It?

... Yet God does declare some "worthy": [Rev 3:4 KJV] 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. [in context]: 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the...

Who Falls From Grace & Who Falls Short Of It?

OSAS is an abused acronym. At one extreme, it is used as a shorthand for “God will finish what He started” (Philippians 1:6 , John 6:27-30). At the other extreme, it is a battle cry (real or imagined) that people can or should live a reprobate lifestyle and think themselves saved. So sometimes...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

Beware what is coming out of your mouth. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” [Luke 6:45 NKJV] “Who are you to judge another's...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

[Matthew 19:17 NKJV] 17 So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." [Mark 10:18 NKJV] 18 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. [Luke 18:19 NKJV] 19...

Romans 8:26 And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered; 27 and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

Those that hate the Doctrines of Grace so much that they need to redefine the actual definitions of “T”, “U”, “L”, “I” and “P” into some grotesque parody of the actual doctrines so they can destroy their “strawmen” without ever needing to engage honestly with what the Doctrines of Grace actually...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

I am not a sinless Christian. :( Of THAT I am certain. Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

I only meant that I did not respect the LORD that I did not know, then I came to know the LORD (and I immediately had respect for Him once I knew Him.) It was the KNOWLEDGE of God that was TEMPORAL, not moving from "Saved" to "obedient" that had a time lag. If you claim to know God but the...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

Not advocating sin and evil, but I think that verse places the "cause" and "effect" the other way around. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" ... so having a "relationship" comes before "obedience". The 'reverential respect' for the LORD that we have come to know (because God...

Grace-Haters are incapable of honestly admitting what the (P) in Calvinism really means.

Sorry, I missed the question. Fear of the Lord is clean (Psalms 19:9), the beginning of wisdom (Psalms 111:10), the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7), to hate evil (Proverbs 8:13), a fountain of life (Proverbs 14:27), the instruction of wisdom (Proverbs 15:33) and His treasure (Isaiah 33:6).

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

... because GRACE is from GOD (one of many verses was provided). So Grace only "comes from Mary" if Mary is God. I know that Catholics call it "venerate", but ... if it walks like a duck, etc. ... it sure looks like "worship" of Mary from the outside. I wish you spent as half as much energy...

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

[Eph 2:1-10 NASB95] 1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the...

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

Does that mean that the Father and the Holy Spirit play no part in our salvation?

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

That IS the position of the RCC, but not of all Christians in all times. A metaphor is a metaphor, and Jesus liked "metaphors" (as does the rest of Scripture: Old and New Testaments). [Exo 15:3 KJV] 3 The LORD [is] a man of war: the LORD [is] his name. Is the Lord really a man of war or is it...

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

I agree. Are those that advocate for "coredemptrix" really saying the same thing? All things do not pass through Mary's nail-scarred hands ... that is the point that we cannot allow followers to lose sight of in their zeal to venerate the "vessel of honor" as much as "the Potter".

Why do Catholics adore, worship and deify Mary so much?

An over-simplification since all three persons of the Trinity play a part in our salvation, but closer to YES than NO.
