But how can the church "authenticate" the Bible? it's more the other way round...........

Put differently: the Bible stands above the church, rather than the other way round.

All the churches in Asia in Revelation had flaws which the Lord points out; only Ephesus which thought it was so superior and correct is warned of the danger of the removal of the lampstand of God's presence.

@Charlie24 Thanks for your comment; appreciated. I guess one could also say that the adjacent verse in Leviticus seems to say about not trimming one's beard; do preachers shave? if they do, then maybe they are acknowledging that they are NT Christians under grace rather than OT Jews in the land...

The idea of someone else supposedly authenticating the Word of Go puts ecclesiastics, etc., in a position they should never be in.
