Hey, thanks for the many responses. As things stand, one could belong to any cult and claim the title Christian, and it wouldn't be questioned... I have had about 5 years on CF and folks are happy to disclose JW, Mormon, SDA, whatever, and they get respect. What is avoided is unwittingly...

We seem to have a raft of folks arguing against the trinity and the identity of Jesus. If members were unable to hide behind the term 'Christian' it would save a lot of time. Thoughts... ???

I think our theology is shaped by our personal experience of God. Those who have been delivered from the pit - in this life - are more likely to believe in Amazing Grace, like I do.

I believe in OSAS Because my faith has been tested and I should be dead. Honestly my 11 years in rebellion took me to a dark place and only God could save me from it. If I wasn't born again when I was 13 I wouldn't have survived.

I find the reverse is the case... We do have some 'modern' churches peddling 'cheap grace' but there are also plenty who have not bought into this. Careful not to paint them all based on the excesses of some. Reverence for God is high where I fellowship and folks do not take their salvation...

I think that your position makes salvation like Russian roulette. Yes I am saved but I must live with a gun to my head. My God wants for us to live in celebration of His goodness and be confident in Him. He has done the ultimate work for us on the cross (which we could never do) so we move on...

And there is the IF... If it were possible even the very elect would be deceived. But it is not - Hallelujah.
