    Pre-trib rapture!

I don't reckon there's anything you can say that will ever convince me that what Paul calls THE COMING is not a coming of the Lord. I understand that's a little awkward for you, since it requires there to be a Third Coming of the Lord, while the Bible only speaks of two. I'll let you work that...

Does questioning Christianity lead to Atheism? (depends)

Maybe? It could be that unbelief causes them to ask questions. That isn't the only reason someone might ask questions, though. Maybe they're struggling internally to reconcile what they've been taught with their convictions. Maybe they just feel a need to know how everything works. I think...

    Pre-trib rapture!

Your own post disproves your point, but you just keep doubling and tripling down. :Laughingoutloud:

    Pre-trib rapture!

I think you might need them more. It doesn't say "He is coming to meet us in the air." It says "we who remain until THE COMING will not prevent those who are asleep." THE COMING. But according to Big Boy Johnson, this doesn't count as a coming of the Lord. Make it make sense.

    Should Christians Love Everyone?

No, not necessarily. We are to "love our neighbor" but not everyone is our neighbor! In Luke 10, Jesus was asked "who is our neighbor?" and in response gave us the Parable of the Good Samaritan. This parable is often used to teach that our neighbor may not be someone who is part of our...

Does questioning Christianity lead to Atheism? (depends)

I take your point, but... There is a real need for every church to define it's core doctrines. If this is not done, the church runs directly into heresy in a hurry. Even the earliest churches created CREEDs and insisted on orthodoxy in the points included in their creeds. Creeds don't just...

    Pre-trib rapture!

So, you're telling me that this is not a COMING, when the verse you quoted literally uses the word COMING? :IDK: I guess it's just Exhibit 1,548,453,154 of pre-trib theological nonsense. A typical Thursday.

    Pre-trib rapture!

1Th 4:15,17 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep... Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so...

    Pre-trib rapture!

That would make it a third coming, rather than a second one. I suppose the Bible does allow that The Day of the Lord may happen repeatedly, perhaps even cyclically. But the thing common to every Day of the Lord, is that they are ALL about judgment. Amos 5:18-20 Woe unto you that desire the...

The Parenthetical Greatest Commandment = Love Yourself!

Disagree. People usually make excuses for themselves. They rationalize. I don't reckon that to be forgiveness. Forgiveness requires one to first recognize their guilt, and then absolve.

The Parenthetical Greatest Commandment = Love Yourself!

It tells us that self-forgiveness is required.

The Parenthetical Greatest Commandment = Love Yourself!

The original verse provides a little insight: You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Leviticus 19) The middle of Leviticus is NOT where I expected to find this verse. In a book of instructions for...

    It happens every time. :Laughingoutloud:

    Pre-trib rapture!

Hmmm... do I really want to waste time arguing with pre-tribbers? No, I don't. I'm not going to put much effort into this. A post-trib verse: Jesus: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days... they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory...

“I lost my faith at Bible college”

Uh... not true. Before he was Paul... Saul was personally discipled by Gamaliel, who was considered the greatest Rabbi of his day, and one of the greatest ever within Judaism. At the time of his conversion, he was on his way to Damascus with a writ of authority from the High Priest. Paul...

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

Wow... You are actually making the mistake that I was poking fun at. When the Bible refers to "The Word," that is NOT a self-reference. It's talking about Jesus in His pre-existent and eternal state of Godhood, before the Incarnation and after the Resurrection. It is talking about the full...

Jesus is the answer. - But what's the question?

The original song is about seducing a girl. It's basically "come here baby, I'll be your saviour." *wink wink nudge nudge*

Jesus is the answer. - But what's the question?

JESUS IS THE ANSWER is a billboard - a bit of marketing for churches over the last few decades. The intentions might be good and sincere, but promoting Jesus as a panacea for whatever problems a person may have in life is... well, it's not entirely truthful. All our problems do not just...
