Circumcision and Baptism of the Spirit and Body

Yes. but what was in the "old man" that is not in us as born again Christians? Read further verses in Colossians 2. I just made a post on this in Bible Study. Go there.

Circumcision and Baptism of the Spirit and Body

Hi Behold, God has recently revealed to me what the "foreskin" represents of His circumcising us without hands. What do you think is in what is cut off?

    Moving on from Christs principles?

and @ScottA Read Acts of the Apostles 2:14+ , Peter's sermon. He points to the Day of Pentecost being the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy. The "last days are going on ever since the Day of Pentecost. As far as outpourings of the Holy Spirit, the Day of Pentecost was the early rain, and we are...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Not all who go to church are born again. But only the born again get the Spirit. He doesn't come in different sizes. But it is up to Him how much of His power He releases to a person. The more passionate someone is for Christ, the more power they will receive, along with higher gifts.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

The clean meats were passed down for the first sacrifice by God, Himself. Don't forget Noah was the first person God said could eat meat. And not just clean meat but "everything that moved." It was for sacrifices that ONLY clean meat was designated. No one kept the Sabbath until it was given...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

I understand where you are coming from. You've got tunnel vision that your denomination's teachings are right. But most are based on error in interpretation. That is why we have so many. Remember, it is the Bible, not your denomination, that says "without holiness, no man shall see God." So...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Wow! Such patronizing. Do yourself a favor. Copy my post to you and make a document you can read later in a few years. When you get older and grow in the Lord, take it out and see if you understand it then.

Is Jesus suggesting we can forgive the sins of man too?

Only what the Bible says we must forgive. They would be the trespasses of each other. Matthew 6:14-15 14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Hi Matthew, The Book of Hebrews is to Jews becoming Christians. Those dead works would be "works of the flesh of the Old Testament" such as physically keeping certain Jewish only things: feasts and ceremonial circumcision with a physical knife, only eating clean meats that could be used in...

WHAT IS "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" and the SIGNIFICANCE OF IT?

I asked you to start with verse 5. If you had you would know you are wrong about about verse 22. That was when he was STILL IN THE FLESH. Verse 5 is talking of a time when that condition is past. And Paul was speaking of himself, but not as a saved person, but as a Pharisee and still under the...

    THE POWER OF WORDS.

Matthew, please notice that not all of these is to a born again Christian. For instance, these are not, 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is...

WHAT IS "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" and the SIGNIFICANCE OF IT?

Did you read Romans 7 starting with verse 5 like I asked you to in #42, that shows "being in the flesh" to be in the PAST once we are filled with the Spirit Romans 8:2 which says life in the Spirit frees us from the law of sin and death? Romans 7:14-25 is life STILL IN THE FLESH!!!!! Don't be...

WHAT IS "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" and the SIGNIFICANCE OF IT?

Why don't you read Romans 7 in CONTEXT for once in your life and start with verse 5. If you are taking any verses between 14-23 and applying them to yourself you may or may not be right depending on if you are Jewish or a Christian. Paul is talking about those Old Testament Jews UNDER THE LAW...

WHAT IS "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" and the SIGNIFICANCE OF IT?

It tells you WHEN that will happen. So why can't you accept what is written. Curious. When do you think tongues, knowledge and prophecy will cease?

WHAT IS "SPEAKING IN TONGUES" and the SIGNIFICANCE OF IT?

And what about those who are born again of the Spirit? Can't we make good choices? What denomination are you that teaches that no one can make good choices?

problem related to praying in tongues

The Day of Pentecost did not contradict the Word of God as you and many others think! 1 Corinthians 14:2 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. Can you think of a "hearing" gift in 1 Corinthians...
