Oh c'mon, knock it off. You've listened to the same political candidates we all have, and there aren't many of them that don't throw out some pretty colorful language. What is this, "Shame on Jennifer because she uses some 'naughty' words."? I think she's doing a lot better than just a few...

    Judgemental People

Yes, that was mostly from a book I have. As I said earlier in this thread, I am not comfortable in just dumping this book out there for all to read. Jennifer is not the only one who may not yet be ready to accurately understand it. It was definitely not written from a Biblical perspective...

An appropriate answer. I'm seeing more hope for you, day-by-day.

I read the article, and see it as little more than justification for not trying to meet people where they are.

That reply is why I told *SG* you weren't yet ready to hear any of it.

    Judgemental People

Well, you may read it as you are not, but I read it as we are very responsible for caring about others. I think it is a bit more than just clothing people, giving a glass of water, or visiting them in prison………. although I do think we are asked to break the locks off the emotional prisons of...

A tiny droplet of it is in Post # 145. ( Judgemental People )

Couldn't that be expressed, "Am I my brother's keeper?"
  9. Willie T

    Judgemental People

Yes, but as SG said, most Christians aren't judging for themselves. They are judging in order to pass their "decision" onto others as judgeMENT.

    Judgemental People

Unfortunately, to her, it does. And for each of us, it is just the same. It is not necessarily the facts of a situation that matter to us, but our perception of those facts.

    Judgemental People

Angry people usually end up looking ridiculous, for their response seems out of proportion to what occasioned it. They have taken things too seriously, exaggerating the hurt or insult that has been done to them. They are so sensitive to almost any slight, that it becomes comical how much they...

My heart aches that I think I have the start of a possible answer sitting on my computer. But, it is far too dangerous reading for her at this stage...… actually, for most of us. LOL

Studying the Bible without thinking critically

To *Invisibilis'* point, THAT seems to be a gigantic hurdle for many on this forum. (My wife taught four classes a day of Remedial Reading at a local high school for students almost ready to graduate, who could barely read on a third-grade level.) I was reading the Junior Classics in 5th...

Have you read either of those book to see if and how that point is handled?

Two excellent books to get your atrophied reading skills back in shape. How to Read a Book, by: Mortimer J. Adler How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth, by: Gordon D. Fee & Douglas Stuart

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Does anyone here think the Jews, Jesus, or John The Baptist invented the ritual of baptism?

    Do Hymns have any revelancy?

Your defensiveness is a hoot! That is so pitiful. In your prideful arrogance you sit and shame anyone who cannot attain the perfection you think they should?

How Should We Read the Church Fathers?

So does Luke14:26... unless you accept an external explanation from someone.
