For once, I agree with you. What the heck is that statement of his all about?

    “God does the works”

No, the child needs REAL milk from a cow, and ACTUAL bread baked in a human being's oven.... not high-sounding platitudes. This requires direct effort and delivery on our part. It will require time and money spent doing it for God.

    “God does the works”

No, WE are assigned the task of continually doing God's works for Him. The starving child will not be given a rainfall of manna.... God has told US to go to the child and give them something to eat.

Should Christians not participate in Halloween?

It is one of the best times our church uses for teaching the neighborhood children about Christ. Our entire campus is a beacon that draws kids from blocks away.

Sorry..... you have totally lost me.

No, I'm sorry, but the ancients wouldn't even recognize our music (of ANY generation) as worship.

What on Earth are you talking about?????? That whole sermon was about Judas. BTW, the definition of traitor is given at 3:23.

You do understand, don't you, that if the Believers of Jesus' day heard one of our GREAT GRAND PARENT's worship songs.... (that WE consider so Holy) they would probably condemn "that sacrilegious worldly racket" with the same kind of words you just used?

    External influences

Two things had a great impact upon me wanting to know Christ. Surprisingly, it was a poem by this Catholic Lebanese poet: Part 1. Part 2. …. and the movie, Jesus Christ, Superstar. How about any of you?

    Calvinism

Well, I'm presently reading John Calvin's Institutes for the third time. (Of which I find little in common) I don't understand the reluctance to read opposing views. Just rants, and attacks, I can understand not wanting to read, but not just other opinions. (I would still be stuck way back...

Due to hostiliy here, I've made some changes...

Just as a matter of point..... "He" is a "She."

Just in case you missed John's wording there...…. He plainly said there is only ONE "sin unto death." And that one single sin is blaspheming The Holy Spirit. (That basically means not accepting Christ.)

Due to hostiliy here, I've made some changes...

    I'm a little disappointed.

I imagine all of us have heard the old saying, "Perception is everything." But, I submit that it could be more accurately said, "Your perception is your everything." (Just a little something to put in your "Humm"… box.)

And you restated just what I said. As your life understandings and experiences changed, the way you felt about what you read also changed. And it will keep doing so throughout your life.... no matter what the "source" of that change, be it worldly or Spiritual. You don't believe that what you...

Wow! Have you ever misunderstood "interpretation." Everything ANYONE reads from anything, including the Bible, is processed through who we are, how we think, and the experiences of our own, personal lives. It can happen no other way. And that means that we understand what we feel to be right...

I think, to you, it must mean, "You have to agree with me." LOL

That was a direct answer to your post #602. Even worded the same way. I'm beginning to believe you might not have anything to say if you couldn't holler, "Strawman." LOL
